Aren't Fenerbahce banned from the CL? And if so, do Gala get in if they finish second?
Turkey get two CL places:

1st place in Lig = straight to group stages
2nd place = third qualifying round

Fenerbahce will definitely miss out next year as they've been banned following a match fixing scandal. This could potentially mean Galatasaray go straight into the group stages and Besiktas into 3rd qualifying round if things stay as they are.

When is the cup final for roberto?

Cup final is 7th May between Galatasaray and Eskisehirspor. The final will be held at Konyaspor's ground and guess what? It only holds just under 23,000 :S

Re: Mancini Thread

Just for an idea of the run-ins, who are the two last games against for the pair of them?

Well, for those still interested, Besiktas suffered a defeat away to Sivasspor whilst Galatasaray won away to Elazigspor. The win puts Bob back up to second place in the League and Elazigspor's cause was not helped when Kayhan was sent off in the 71st minute following a second yellow. Fenerbahce confirmed what we expected - the league title - with a 0-0 at home to Rizespor.

27/04….Sivasspor (6).............3-0……...Besiktas (2)
27/04….Elazigspor (15).………0-1….…..Galatasaray (3)
27/04....Fenerbahce (1).........0-0.........Rizespor (12)

Table:

1)…Fenerbahce…..31…..21…..5…..5…..68…..+37
2)…Galatasaray…..31…..15…11…..5…..56…..+22
3)…Besiktas………..31…..15…10…..6…..55…..+18

I'll not bother with Fenerbahce's results anymore and focus on Galatasaray & Besiktas for the last 3 games of the season.

Next matches:

03/05….Besiktas (3)...............vs……...Kasimpasa (6)
03/05….Galatasaray (2).........vs.........Genclerbirligi (8)

Big game for him today in the race for second, grabbing the other CL qualification spot.

Cup final is coming up midweek aswell. He could win their FA Cup and finish second, qualifying for the CL which would be an excellent return considering where he took over.

Re: Mancini Thread

Although I said I wouldn't be mentioning Fenerbahce, they've gone down 3-1 away to Akhisar Belediye- very much an after the Lord Mayor's parade performance I guess.

Anyway, Gala took another step toward sealing 2nd place with a 3-2 win against Genclerbirligi (I'll be glad when Bob leaves this league an ditches up somewhere the team names are easier to spell!). Gala found themselves 0-2 down at halftime, but two goals in 2 minutes (one an o.g) saw them claw their way back into it. In shades of another 3-2 come back win Bob was involved in a couple of years ago :)) Umut Bulut scored the winner in the 90th minute!

Besiktas also won to maintain the pressure on Gala with a good 2-1 win against Kasimpasa. Besiktas were comfortable throughout with Kasimpasa's goal a consolation in the 90th minute.

03/05….Besiktas (3)...............vs……...Kasimpasa (6)
03/05….Galatasaray (2).........3-2.........Genclerbirligi (8)

Won't happen, but out of curiosity, what would people's opinions be if he replaced Moyes at United?

I'd be happy. That means they won't hire someone like Klopp. And it would be his ego against Rooney, RVP, Fergie and the rest of that entitled mob. Wait until he throws his first fit about not being able to spend money, the conflict with the Glazers would be hilarious.

Someone once described him as a chequebook manager, and that fits him perfectly. He'll take the biggest spending club in the league and give them one domestic trophy per season. Forget about Europe, it's hopeless.

Klopp is the type of manager to go in quietly and bring a team through based on it's existing strengths. Dortmund are certainly not a club that has spent a lot of money but just seems to of been very careful with it's youth recruitment but that time has now passed and they are in decline as their better players move on.

I hope they do get Klopp because I don't think Klopp is all that he's cracked up to be. With a good amount of funds he still isn't proven at all. Aside from his time at Dortmund he was also manager at Mainz for nearly 9 years and took them to relegation whilst winning nothing whatsoever. I watched them play in the Champions League final last year and they were very well beaten by Bayern in the end.

They were beaten 2:1 with Bayern scoring 2nd in 89th.

And Bayern should finish the game with 9 players.

No way would he take the utd job,he respects us fans too much, spurs on the other hand

Lol, of course he'd take the job but don't worry, they would not approach him. He is nowhere near appreciated as good manager outside of City fans zone.

When he was sacked here people were talking about Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Roma.... and yet he finished in Galatasaray. And just as it is the case with players who go to Galata, it's same with managers - they get good ones who are not top of the league.

I can't see him getting any big job outside of Italy anytime soon, not the job of City proportions. Spurs and such, yes, he might get that.
