I believe and hope it is a clarkie, but ESPN soccernet press pass are reporting that the Russian Minister of sport has seen and confirm that the contract exists. However it still isn't clear if it is real - i.e. it isn't clear if Mancini signed it or forged it.
It's a bit paranoid, but this it did concern me and was my immediate thought. Actually my first thought was Abramovich is just bidding Mancini's contract price up so that city will struggle with FFP. Then when I heard about the contract having been 'signed' already I got a bit Machiavellian.
Abromovich has been involved in appointing and funding all most all of the recent Russian coaches. He has motivation for trying to steal Bobby as it would kill two birds with one stone in some ways. It would destabilise city and get him a world class manager. Although, it would likely mean that we would then compete with Chelsea for Pep. But still it could be true.
Another theory, primarily based on his dodgy past, is that Abramovich has called in some favours, or payed for some, and got someone to forge Mancini's signature. What they do with this contract is then anyone's guess, but it will cause a shitstorm for city as they won't be able to sign until the other contract is declared invalid. Furthermore, if it isn't declared invalid we then have a 30 million euro break clause to pay.

Ha. Yeah a bit. I don't really believe it, they were just some of the possibilities that flew through my head. Eliminate the unlikely possibilities and it leaves the whole rumour being a clarkie, but without any football to watch, or some actual signings, my bored mind will fret about Mancini signing a contract.

Just don't see it, maybe being harsh but the only reason you would go for the Russia job in Bobbys shoes would be money and that is the one reason why you wouldn't leave City. I believe bobby would have no intent to go to Russia but I am sure he will use this discussion to up his deal, to up his transfer budget and to gain more power at City

Relax mate ... honestly the fact that this is even still being discussed is funny. Absolutely buckleys chance of it being true ... the fact the club haven't said anything has probably got more to do with the fact that they don't want to dignify such absurd claims with any kind of response as it gives it more credence than it deserves.

C'mon guys, if it's not a player, it's the manager who will see us implode according to outsiders.
Mancini could easily have been asked about an interest as last season remained in the melting pot.
Mancini is responsible for the training camp, the current movements behind the scenes, all manner of things.
And all not the actions of a man who has a lot of integrity and supposedly about to stab us in the back.
Talks were simply delayed because both the manager and City wanted to wait until the end of the season.
I believe Mancini, Silva and Kompany are all a matter of lawyers just signing stuff off and we will get good news very soon.
To put it into context , it can take up to eight weeks to let the wheels grease on a house purchase, this a £5m a year deal with all manner of bonus structures and a coaching staff to look after.
