Mancini v Pellegrini so far ......

It's Mancini for me, he not only new how to win trophies with his teams, but more importantly he new how to have his teams defend, yes we would lose on some occasions, but we always had that look about us that we were not going to concede, right now under Pellegrini we go forward and look menacing, and we look like we can score at any time, but likewise we look like we can also concede at any time away from home, if Pellegrini can't get it right with the defence, then i can't see him being our manager for too long after the season is over, getting past the group stage in the CL is one thing, but City need to win the league to show everyone that we are as good as we think we are, after all the league is a long season, but cup games are only a few games compared to the league.

It's performances like to do why there is no way you can say at this stage we are better than we ever were under Mancini. Far too many of these performances away from home and it's left us chasing a title that we shouldn't be so far behind in.

Pellegrini was out managed today by a very good young coach.

Don't agree. I think we're a better team than we were under Mancini. A point today after a poor performance only reinforces that for me.

I thought we were better today defensively than we have been in our previous away games for the vast majority of the season.

Nothing to do with the point , but I look at it as goals conceded and shots on target.

Other than the one on one that Pants handled well and the goal that was a one off for them this season you will find Pants had little to do.

On another day we would have won this 2-1 or even 3-1.

Far more disappointed with the games against Cardiff , Sunderland , Villa and even Soke and Chelsea.

We have lost 9 points away from winning positions in the second half and thats the killer for us so far but even though we look like throwing the title away to Arsenal should our away form continue and it needs to change immediately from now on in as the Gunners are here to stay this season as are Chelsea despite their loss today if we get into winning positions away from home surely we will put a few of them to bed this season.

You have misunderstood my post. I am not comparing Pellegrini to Mancini, I am very happy with the new manager and I like where we're heading.

However, it was Billy's point that we are, at this moment, better than any stage under Mancini. I refute that, and performances like today are the reason why. There have been too many of them this season and with defeats at Villa, Cardiff and Sunderland it puts a lot of pressure on us for these games. A point isn't a bad result as such, but because we've lost those other games it leaves us with very little room for manoeuvre in our future away games.

And that's the difference to Mancini. He knew how to close a game out and collect the 3 points.
Our current 'much sought after manager' has yet to learn the harsh realities of the Premier League.

This is just revisionist history. Mancini deserves all the credit in the world, but we were hardly a stranger to draws under his leadership, so I'm not sure we were great at collecting the 3 points. Even in the title winning season, with everything on the line, we lost at Swansea then drew against Sunderland and Stoke in the same month These were awful, awful results (at the time, now they were just enough!). My point here isn't to slander Mancini, but I don't think it's fair to create some myth that he was more than he was--a very capable manager who did a good job for us. We've had some shocking results under both managers, which probably is an indicaiton that we should probably not ascribe so much to either manager, these things happen.

Are you actually still trying to talk about football? After claiming that silva and yaya weren't well known when Mancini bought them?

I don't think Mancini could've stayed, as he'd alienated too much of the dressing room, and it was probably time for a change. That said, Pellegrini doesn't look an upgrade at this, admittedly early, stage.

At present, he looks like a sideways step, a manager with his own flaws, in different areas. Some more glaring than Mancini's.

If Pellegrini doesn't adapt his tactics and address the away form, then a title we all fancied preseason will never materialise.

Fact will always remain that Mancini had attack and defence nailed until Christmas the year we won the league. Then when teams sussed us out he had no an b

Pellegrini has admitted he won't change so it's about the team adapting but as far as tactically goes, Mancini had the better defence Manuel the better attack
