OP, did you start this thread just so you could sit back with a bucket of popcorn and watch the sparks fly? :)

personally I was a big fan of bobby, I still prefer him to mp. that's not to say I don't like mp, far from it I do, if he gets to 3 trophies (charity shield doesn't count) I'll prefer him to bobby, capiche? ;)

We cannot possibly judge until pelle has been in charge for a couple of seasons. Our attacking play is brilliant under pellegrini but Mancini overall added a certain consistency that pellegrini hasn't yet achieved.

It's performances like to do why there is no way you can say at this stage we are better than we ever were under Mancini. Far too many of these performances away from home and it's left us chasing a title that we shouldn't be so far behind in.

Pellegrini was out managed today by a very good young coach.

Don't agree. I think we're a better team than we were under Mancini. A point today after a poor performance only reinforces that for me.

It's Mancini for me, he not only new how to win trophies with his teams, but more importantly he new how to have his teams defend, yes we would lose on some occasions, but we always had that look about us that we were not going to concede, right now under Pellegrini we go forward and look menacing, and we look like we can score at any time, but likewise we look like we can also concede at any time away from home, if Pellegrini can't get it right with the defence, then i can't see him being our manager for too long after the season is over, getting past the group stage in the CL is one thing, but City need to win the league to show everyone that we are as good as we think we are, after all the league is a long season, but cup games are only a few games compared to the league.

Disappointing performance today, but the highlighted line could have been said, word for word, directly after the So'ton away game last season.

No consistency yet, but the peaks of good play are higher, certainly more so than last season anyway. Where I think Mancini's tactics got rumbled and we were shit most weeks, and couldn't score. But as is said, Mancini seemed better at grinding out ugly results than Pellegrini currently is.

I have reservations in certain areas, but I'm happy enough with his start. Big few games though. I think we have to take 6 from arsenal and Liverpool at Home to still be in it.
