Mancini - we support you thread.

Nobody's perfect but I believe Mancini's the man for us. The guy's clearly got talent and I think he is still going up the learning curve. He woud probably admit that to himself, privately.

It will take a few attempts to get really sorted in Europe. However it was never realistic to think we'd conquer the world in just 3 or 4 years. Or piss the Premier League every season.

Mancini's already brought us success. As a supporter for some 50 years I'm thankful for that. Let's stick with him and enjoy a period of stability with (hopefully) more domestic honours.
But when a manager makes mistakes, we can say so can't we? Setbacks need to be rationalised, but some people don't seem to be able to countenance any criticism at all.

.so come on Roberto....just get us back to the formation and the style we had last year......let the likes of garcia and sinclair play in the CC

So Sinclair and Garcia have to wait until next season ?

in the pivotal role that garcia plays I dont think he is anywhere near upto speed/good enough at present so yes i dont thinkn he should be played unless it in games where we are already comfortable

in sinclairs role we can afford to bring him through slowly and hopefully he will improve

for most games/big games etc i would play this team always

hart

richards/zabba kompany lescott clichy

barry rodwell/milner

silva yaya

aguero tevez

I dont like the fact that we have to play barry and rodwell/milner together but after selling NDJ then we dont have a choice...garcia isnt up to speed and yaya is wasted back there.....

silva has to play which is unfortunate for nasri (though he could be rotated with tevez or aguero or even rodwell/milner (if we are chasing a game)

aguero and tevez are a best bet upfront at the moment ( i know this is hard on dzeko but he is simply not consistent enough in his al round game)

We fell apart after he was injured in the Dortmund game....you do know he's still out with the injury?.....and we are out of the CC (now (CapitalOne) Cup?

lol...ooops i had wiped that dfrom my memory....but my point stands....athte moment garcia isnt god enough for a full time place in the team...and we didnt fall apart in the dortmund game after he was taken off....we were already playing very poorly with him on the pitch and their midfield had already ran past him on numerous occasions as if he wasnt there!

your doing a fair bit of rotation yourself there fella, like it or not it is a squad game, the players need to start performing more consistently especially the defenders and dm's

Yes, of course. Its the ones that question his continuing tenure that piss me off. Makes us look like idiots. But Mancini isn't infallible. He's human, he makes mistakes and he would be the first to admit that it would be stupid to say he is above criticism. If I botch something a work, I want to know about. Its exactly the same for him.

It isn't posters like you that should be drawing any flak, its the brainless hatchet brigade that are difficult to take.

I think rotation's entirely feasible without upsetting too many player...

Tevez/Aguero/Dzeko (2 of 3) can be rotated fairly well. Balotelli MUST take 4th place I'm afraid. I'd almost be tempted to sell him, and have Guidetti as 4th.
Silva / Nasri can be rotated, or played together if we're going for more attack.
Garcia / Toure / Barry / Milner / Rodwell / Sinclair is the problem area, that's a lot to try and rotate, esp when Toure is virtually nailed on the team sheet. Mancini probably wants to phase out Barry due to age, but is caught in the catch 22 situation of 'every game is difficult' - and needing Barry but wanting to give Rodwell a run out. Sinclair's going to struggle to get a game, and Garcia / Milner are smilarly tenacious, but possibly Milner's a bit quicker and able to go forward more.

But still, rotation's the name of the game these days - so we just have to manage it sensibly, and largely I think Mancini's doing that.

I feel we're a fragile team at the moment. Comeback kings is not the reputation we want, and unlikely to work against top class opposition. Fans are anxious too, as we want to do well in Europe, and we've gotten a tad complacent about winning games. Generally speaking, we're not getting battered in Europe, but we are losing. 'Not quite good enough' is a fair appraisal I'd say. But it would also be fair to say "not far off". We probably failed to bring in two very high quality players in the summer and that's showing. But it's too early to say Garcia's not good enough - he needs more games.

Mancini's still the man for me (at the moment), and if he can accept we don't have 50 million to spend, but he CAN sell to buy, then selling Balo for 20 million, and possibly Dzeko for 20 million too, would net him 40 million. That's enough for (say) Cavani.
He could do the same in midfield, selling 2 or 3 average players to bring in 1 top class, or maybe 2 (if he was given additional funds).

Only theez!!!!!!!

Now where is that fucking "tenure" thread?

It should have been strangled at birth for being an abomination, but the fucking tenure thread is still hanging around these parts like a third rate travelling circus. All the clowns can still be found in residence there. And we ain't seen nothing yet, it being Friday night. Only thing worse than a Mancini-bashing clown is a pissed up Mancini-bashing clown.
