We've spent nearly £400m net over the last 5 years. So we fucking should be, at the very least. But we shouldn't be 15 points behind the leaders.
money may buy great players but we have to earn experience.
All those players, bar Garcia, have been together for the best part of 2 seasons. Some have even been here 4 or 5 seasons. I agree you shouldn't expect a load of players to immediately gel but that's not an excuse we can use anymore.

We certainly haven't learned from experience playing against Everton have we?

All this talk of we are now at the top table, we are losing to teams well below that.

At Everton last season he used his deflection gimmick.

He did in Europe this season, too.

He could if course done this yesterday but he's knows it is now wearing a bit thin.

And deep down, we all know he doesn't believe it, and was trying to take pressure off the team.

Probably posted this on the wrong thread so I'll post it here. If Spurs had won their last two games they'd be second now, with us still to go there. What excuse would the apologists use then?

If we had won yesterday and United lost their last two games we would be 6 points behind them, with us still to go there.

If my auntie had bollocks etc

I'm just making a point. We're second still because Spurs have screwed up not because we're out of sight.

If United had lost a shit load of games, we'd be top.

we were a better team last year and they still did us at theirs.. why are you so shocked we lost yesterday ?? youve all been saying for months now Mancini is shit and its his fault, yet you expected us to win away at Everton yesterday with an under par team..??I didnt, and im a Mancini tub thumper.

Ah so we were a better team last year so we have gone backwards then? And would that be any fault of the manager's?

Expecting city to lose yesterday and thinking that they should not because the manager should have learnt from previous encounters and should use his more talented set of players effectively are not the same thing. Nor are they the same thing as saying Mancini is shit. What some people are saying is that Mancini is not getting the best out of his resources and is not taking the team forward anymore and is not showing any sign of having the answers.

Sadly I completely disagree. The Everton team on paper is light years behind ours. We made them look very good by being very poor.

What kind of weird argument is that. You can't excuse consistently losing to a vastly inferior group of players based on it being consistent!

You're right you're a hardcore tub thumper. Even some of his biggest fans think he dropped too many bollocks yesterday and he's responsible. Not out of form strikers or poor defending.

And ur a hardcore Mancini out tubthumper...

We are 2nd because we are better than Spurs. Spurs will get results like today because they aren't a top team like us or United. You say they screwed up but they haven't, they just have lost the last two matches after going on a good run. They aren't good enough to keep extending that run.

I can't stand "If". If we had held on at Madrid we would have gone through to the knockout stages. If Nasri wasn't such a shit house we wouldn't have given United the advantage they have took since then. If we had been given that penalty yesterday maybe we would have gone on and got the winner. If means nothing.

At the end of the day, we haven't been good enough, Mancini hasn't been good enough and United have been ridiculously good.

Oh come on Billy. No sergio,no Yaya & no vinnie..we were desperately short on class yesterday.

Sadly I completely disagree. The Everton team on paper is light years behind ours. We made them look very good by being very poor.

We were the better team in the last 20 minutes yesterday , but that's the only time we were !

City have to learn to 'dig in' and battle for points at 'uncomfortable' places ...... and Everton was always gonna be that due to the fact that they'd only lost one home game !

OK but we have been Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal this season so that probably has more to do with why were 2nd.
