Since it was ignored earlier I'll try one more time. Has anyone got an example of a player Mancini has criticised publicly who has gone on to excel under him ?

Didn't Mancini publically criticise Micah Richards just after he arrived for not taking training seriously? Went on to have arguably his best season last year

Just trying to bring a little balance to proceedings.

That does make me laugh. Although you might have been trying to bring some balance to the proceedings per se. It was a poor attempt which was rooted more in your opinion of my objectivity vis a vis Mancini rather than an actual attempt at bringing balance.

Anyway, just for your edification I posted this not more than a week ago in this very thread.

Seriously though, you cannot argue what a top drawer job Mancini's done with our defence as a unit and our defenders individually. I think it's fair to say he's improved each and every one of them.

So you see, not only do I think Mancini has improved players, when the discussion is about that I've no problem pointing out these improvements and praising him for them.

I think that's what we call balance. ; )

Ditto Zabaletta, Milner & Barry since Mancini has been here. Dzeko seems to play better after a Mancini broadside too. More to the point if they respond to his criticism they get praise a few weeks later too.

Well if you insist(again) on comparing him against the greatest manager of his era........

Ferguson has consistently gotten more out of players that,on the face of things, should not be good enough to be part of a Championship winning team.He instills a belief and a unity in his players that has to be admired.

I'm very aware how obnoxious and arrogant he can be,however,he also has the ability to be flexible towards the requirements of an individual as is evidenced by almost each and every player he has coached not having a bad word to say about him.

Contrast that with Mancini,he could find an argument in an empty room.

good post. you usually talk through your arse but I agree with every word of this.

Except for the fact that Stam, Keane, Tevez amongst others have had bad words to say about him. The British media really is king, isn't it?

The same could be said for Mancini as a manager, but yet his methods are being continually criticised. Yet Fergusons methods are being praised. Speaks volumes to me.
