I'm Manchester born-and-bred, but Manchester really doesn't have much going for it outside of our football club.

Could be anywhere in the UK outside of London, to set itself apart.

The older I get, the smaller it seems to get.

I have had banter before about it, but Carlos was right about one thing, he says it has two decent restaurants.

I'd argue it has none.

Manchester is a shit place to live when you compare it with other cities like London, Barcelona, Milan etc.

Do you mean the Manchester that kick started the modern world with the advent of the Industrial revolution? The same Manchester that boasts the 1st Public park, public library and the 1st EVER railway station? That Manchester?... Or do you mean the Manchester that John Dalton's atomic theory came to being which is only the fore runner to ALL modern medicine.

Or Maybe you refer to the Manchester where Ernest Rutherford first split the Atom harnessing Nuclear energy?... Is that the SHIT place you speak of? Perhaps when Emmeline Pankhurst founded the suffragette movement In Manchester she disagreed with your opinion too? Maybe when Frederick Royce met Charles Rolls in MANCHESTER they were planning on driving out of this SHIT HOLE?

Well Shit apparently, done nothing for nobody. Maybe i'm just fond of the place because i'm born and bred here? Or maybe i love it for it's beautiful listed architecture? Or the numerous great bands that have made this City the coolest in the world?

I wish we had a fraction of Manchester´s music scene in this part of Spain. I live in a live pop music wasteland. Nice sun, chics, beaches and paella and all that but a fookin cultural vacuum when it comes to music. As for Milan they´ve got fook all unless you´re into opera at 100 plus euros a throw.
I make it a point to go to a gig whenever I´m back - very rarely nothing worth seeing any night of the week
My Mrs loves terraced housing btw and she´s Spanish

I saw a comment recently that sums this country up. London is New York,Washington and LA rolled into one which is never healthy for a country. There is no other provisional city in the UK that can get near Manchester. Apart from needing a good clean now and again I think it's got lots to offer!!!
