I can't actually believe how good this chap is. He literally looked like he belonged in a midfield with players like Yaya... already, at 17. At least we know we don't need to pay a penny to replace Silva when he gets too old. Happy days!

This is just the beginning too. Garcia isn't the only one that is capable of this in our academy. Trust me. It's gonna be very, very exciting when they all develop :)

I love players like this. He's slight and quick, but a right tenacious little bastard.

Starting to look more like Moutinho than Silva, which isn't a bad thing at all. He could easily be a long term option to replace Yaya as the guy who controls the game from deep, as he has that lovely way of controlling the ball and spinning so he's looking down the field for a pass and he rarely wastes a pass. He's only a little lad, but you can see he's alread y getting that ability to combat the bigger players by constantly spinning and wrong footing players. If he keeps it up, he's going to be special

Cheers for the appreciation, all! Enjoyed writing that this morning. Fucking great writing about our kids when they're this good.

Yeah, I do. He's being fast-tracked in my opinion, definitely. They're constantly pushing him up the ranks. He'll be a starter for the EDS this year (he was in and out after starting the season with the u16s!) with Byrne out on loan and I reckon in a year's time he'll be the like for like replacement for a departing Nasri. He'll probably get games before then too.

He reminds me of Veratti. I rate him that highly - I actually think he has the discipline to play in midfield too. He works incredibly hard and he's tougher than he looks. Gonna be an absolute world star. It's a bit like when Fabregas came through for Arsenal as a kid. Exciting.

He's a good young player with potential but slow down, you've mentioned three genuine international and champions league stars in comparison in one post!!

Anyone with ability will look great in a game like yesterday v Melbourne, nothing more than a training ground game. The seasoned professionals from both sides taking it in their strides whilst a 17 year old kid who is full of energy and eager to impress is going 100mph. Maffeo look good, Humphries looked good, you put any of our EDS players in that side with seasoned pros and they too would look good, if they didn't then they don't warrant being here.

Also his fast tracking is probably due to the fact that that it's the only thing we can offer when competing with Barca and Real Madrid for his signature. Why would he choose us over them? The promise of first team involvement once he signs his professional contract. Remember when we signed Suarez and he was fast tracked? He wasn't ready to be included for us but once again with the top two in Spain after him, what is the biggest attraction to declining them and coming to Manchester, certainly not the weather, lifestyle or the fact that being thousands of miles away, away from family and friends and the comfort of home.

For me he should spend the next 18 months in the EDS, with little bits of taste in the first team before loaning him out for six months to a Championship club/Dutch club, he will still only be 19 then.

We have a real talent on our hands but can we all just slow down with the giddyness, he's 17 and we have been here many times before. We must have signed 30 types of these players in the last 5 years, the next big things and none have made it, that's an awful lot of giddyness wasted. Be patient!
