Has looked very good in pre-season. Seems unafraid of having the ball, even in tight areas, passing is quick, crisp and accurate, he seems to get the ball, control it well, and then find a teammate without any fuss, or dithering.

He's probably not yet ready to be in City's first team, and would no doubt benefit from 12 months out on loan, preferably in a league where his style of play is better appreciated (i.e. not the "kick him, he knows how to control a ball" style of the Championship).
 
He is a phenomenal talent considering he's only 17. Probably would limit his development to involve him sparingly in the first team this season so would be good to send him to a team that works the ball well where he'd get games regularly: I assume some mid table La Liga side would fit the bill. Like I said on twitter after the match though, I never thought replacing Silva would be possible until I saw this lad's quality. 17!?!?
 
It would be an absolute waste to keep him in the EDS. He's not ready for the first team and he wouldn't get enough game time to warrant a promotion to that level. The club recognise his talent because he's been fastracked up the age groups. If we can get him a loan somewhere that would be ideal, somewhere they focus on technique rather than physicality. The Spanish leagues would be ideal.

If not then the next best place is the EDS, with opportunities given to him in the cups where possible.

I thought Lopes and Barker were very impressive and Nacho obviously worked hard all game as well. It says a lot when all the fluidity and movement is coming from younger players and someone like Navas lets the move down with a typically woeful shot.
 
12 months ago now,and probably most have already seen it..... but this piece of ability just shows how naturally the game is to him

 
I'd imagine his fitness levels aren't at the level of a first team player yet, so I can't imagine he'll be going out on loan this year. He hasn't even had a regular season at EDS level, so I'd be very surprised if he wasn't doing that this year, with Pellegrini keeping an eye on him.
 
Best thing about him is if I'm not mistaken he has been here for a few years already think he joined around 13 so he actually played for our academy not just the 18's and eds

Actually alot of the fluidity and movement stopped when Nacho had the ball. I like the kid, but he has to realise that he don't have to make all the crucial stuff, because the ball and the flow just stops with him when he is unable to make a crucial pass or shot. Clearly frustrates the other players aswell.

Yeah I'd agree, he is a selfish player who wants to score in every game he plays. For me those are exactly the right attributes for a striker if he manages that passion well. Drogba was the same. But so was Balotelli.

The fluidity came more from Barker and Lopes, and their interchange for the Navas chance was quite brilliant. Despite being spoilt by the likes of Silva, Nasri, Yaya and Aguero that move was still up there as one of the best I've seen from City.
 
I'm trying to keep a lid on it....but this kid has the lot,technique,awareness,vision,composure and industry,also a great centre of gravity and a balance to his game.He has lit up that first half against Nam,some wonderful passes and link play - he looks very very comfortable and IMO should most definitely be fast tracked into our squad,he's only going to thrive in that environment and I honestly believe we will then have a potential superstar on our hands.
 
The best compliment I can give is that he fitted seamlessly into the team and didn't look out of place beside Merlin.

A wonderful talent. I didn't see Silva as a 17 year old, but Garcia is what I imagine he was like at that age.
 
To play the devil's advocate: if Fernando would have lost the ball so many times as Garcia today, he'd be bollocked on Bluemoon. Of course, he tried to play risky passes unlike the Brazilian, but in my opinion, he was much better against Roma.

His touch in the first half, which immediately created a goalscoring chance, was totally Silva-esque, though. A wonderfully gifted player, but much to work, quite clearly.

Garcia wasn't there to hold the midfield and keep it simple,he was deployed to create and attempt the odd risky pass in order to open their defence,occasionally losing the ball is always going to happen in such a role.
I thought he was fantastic first half,he kept the game flowing,his momentum was superb and his vision terrific - never fazed and always willing - his contribution today was outstanding.
