Manu Garcia

Official now. Joined Alavas on a season long loan. Great news, they are a newly promoted side to La Liga. Though given his very young age, I thought a season with the EDS with an occasional training + sub cameo under Pep would have been good too, this seems like a very exciting opportunity for him.

Be interesting to see how he does. Does anyone know what Alavas are like as a team? Will their style suit Garcia?

They have a new manager in Mauricio Pellegrino. I don't know much about him to be honest. My crude google research told me that he did well in Argentina the last few seasons. Wasn't great at Valencia. Rafa Benitez' understudy in his earlier coaching days.

Even given his young age I think Manu is one of the ones that have reached that sink or swim stage of their careers, the EDS won't help him this season. Presuming he's deemed good enough to get game time it could be the making of him.

He's a definite talent that needs this challenge IMO.He appeared to look better in a first team setting last season, the higher standard raising and suiting his own game - hopefully that will prove the same again.

I've not seen very much of Manu, but from what little bit I know, is he is going to be competing at City with Diaz, and Sancho with Jesus and Moreno coming in and possibly Coric ?
I wonder if he'll just be a little bit short of what's required.

And strangely has a name very similar to our previous manager!

That's entirely up to him now, he's got 12 months to prove himself. There's only so much the club can do for any of the lads.

It should be a good move for him. Rather Spain than the hurly burly of the Championship

Heads up for peeps who plan to follow Alaves - they now have TWO MFs named Manu Garcia.
The other is the bearded 30-yr-old captain of the team. Be aware ...

Not good enough, has never performed well for City at U18 or EDS and if his nationality wasn't Spanish he would never have been promoted to ththe first team.

He won't come back.

He's performed at the only level thats matter which is in the first team. He was the best City player on the pitch vs Chelsea, scored against Palace and did a fine cameo against Aston Villa in his PL debut. You'd be a fool to say that he doesnt stand a chance to make it here.
