Manuel Akanji | Rumours of an Inter loan deal

Ake injury prone
Stones missed 30 PL games last season
Dias gets injuries
Gvardiol has been overplayed and got injured

That leaves Khusonov as the only reliable CB

Unless we’re getting Dumfries this makes no sense

Couldn't care less that it's a loan, we are not exactly in a position to demand more with us not being able to register him and him not interested in other destinations. We would perhaps have been in a better position if we had made it clear he is not a part of our plans 3 months ago instead of waiting until August. The important thing is that he moves, us getting €2m or €15m makes little difference in the grand scheme of things.

I think Pep intended to continue with Akanji and Gundo, but he changed his mind in the weeks after the CWC. He is building a team for next season, 26/27.

Of course, we'll try to compete but the rebuild is quite significant, perhaps more so than initially planned.

Don’t get it either why we didn’t do a Chelsea and made it clear from the start. Of course we are loaning him out. Other clubs get „ rid of“ their players easily but here we are fighting for loans. I guess he will get loaned out next season too.

I'd agree but I think the rebuild is well under way and we have made a good start. We have brought in a lot of young talent that will gain a year of experience here or on loan. We'll also see if any of Doku, Marmoush, Bobb and Savinho are up to the job.

I suspect Stones, Ake, Akanji, Bernardo, Kovacic etc will all be gone in the next 12 months and we will have squad and salary room to bring in some top class players to complement those younger players.

I know it might be frustrating at the moment but I also find it quite exciting.

Inter’s CD Bisseck impressed me. He is VVD kind of a defender. If we only get him for Manu…

I'm pretty sure it was told to him he was not part of our plans.

He intentionally sabotaged his exit looking for a payoff from City.

Ive never really rated akanji. He was ok, amazing value for money, had his short comings tho.

But …. I would rather play him at rb than the 2 clowns currently stinking the position out
