Manuel Pellegrini

I must admit, I didn't know much about Manuel before we hired him. I was aware who he was and where he had managed in Spain. What gave me the comfort that we had got the right man was listening to Graham Hunter the spanish football expert journo. He was crazy about him and really told us what we were going to get. A charming man who knew his onions. He was unfairly treated by Real (part of the course) and worked miracles with both Villa real and Malaga. A manager who's playing principles were based on attractive attacking football. Due to the fact I have read and listened to so much of what Hunter has put out there, and he is rarely wrong, and speaks so much common sense, that I knew he wouldn't bullshit on the info about Pellegrini.

He has come to our club and straight away put out the fires left by the abbrasive actions our last had left behind. (I am not here knocking the great work Mancini did for us because he was amazing for us and I will always be eternally greatful for his work). Manuel in one year changed so much of the tactics and style of play, its amazing we won anything. Zonal marking to man marking caused our defense a few headaches to start with. He changed the personel in the centre of midfield and made a huge decision to allow Barry to go out on loan and rely on an prem untried Ferdy, who in turn took a few months to get to speed with it all. The brave decision to drop our No 1 keeper for a good number of games turned out to be a huge gamble well taken because HArt has come back amazingly. The unity in the whole squad is so visible for all to see. The entire playing squad see the "Holisitic" approach our club is moving, and everyone is bought in and doing their part.

Just think what we can now go on and achieve following this "transitional" season.

He puts the Man and well into Manuel

He's the master

Had my doubts but he produced the goods and you could feel the love from the players.

Well done Pelle and the boys!

He has done exceptionally well especially in the run in where he has got all the big decisions correct.

His game management has improved massively - earlier in the season at 2 - 0 (like yesterday or Palace) instead of going for a third he closed the game out with intelligent subs. Vinny's and Samir comments on the pitch and the way the players reacted towards him was fantastic

Well done

Sang loud and proud last night in Rafa's

"Oh Manuel Pellegrini, he is a charming man
He comes from Santiago, he's South American
He manages our club, with style & panache
And now we've won the league
It's not because of cash!"

lol nice try tolm, like it or not we should be playing in a cup final next week. you know it, I know it and more important he'll know it. to be fair to him the back up players next season should be much strong than this. lets hope so. I wanna go for the lot :)

Utterly shameless. I trust you turned up yesterday in full Charlie Caroli ensemble as promised?! ;)

Fantastic achievement by the manager "This charming man" is very apt indeed, he grows on you and is the gentleman of football, dare i say very similar to the great Joe Mercer.

Had my doubts even towards the business end of the season, but hey we all make mistakes right !

The man is calmness personified !!!

Football with a smile and the lads love him, strengthen the team now Manuel

The funny thing is if we were in the cup final I am pretty sure Liverpool would be celebrating today as the extra game match would most likely have seen us playing 4 matches in 9 days at one point in the season and very likely to have derailed our season. Fantastic as the FA Cup is, for me League win> FA Cup win every time.
