Marc Cucurella

He would be in the Ukraine team even with him sitting on our bench, so that's irrelevant.

I understand he wants to be playing week in week out, so he should, he is too good to be getting splinters, but he leaves when it suits us, IE when a replacement is in.

It makes zero difference. Brighton were hardly going to drop the fee by £10 million just because we still had Zinchenko on our books.

The lad was offered a huge wage increase and the opportunity for regular football at a top 6 club. He’s been an excellent player for us and I’m glad City didn’t stand in his way or make things difficult for him.

The only reason we haven’t signed Cucurella is due to City’s valuation of him. The club obviously have the cash, value the player and need a LB. But they have decided not to meet Brighton’s asking price.

Personally, I don’t think this deal has fallen through over a £50 million fee. After all, £18 million + the Zinchenko fee is not a ridiculous sum for a clear upgrade at LB.

However, I think Brighton are demanding a lot more than £50 million. I would not be surprised in the slightest if Chelsea pay £40/45 million plus a young player valued at £20/15 million for Cucurella, which would take the overall fee up to £60 million.

No. What happens is people with no real info bang on as if they know for sure what's going on by pretending they have a 'source'. When pulled up on this they flounce around and spit their dummies out.
We have seen many times when people do have the sources deals still fall through and they get castigated for this. I am not talking about WUMs, only those that have proved credibility previously
