I don't see there being any bad blood between City and Brighton supporters. However I don't see Brighton being an option for any of our outstanding young players going forward.

I always thought Brighton would be a good option given the style of football, Mcatee/Delap for example would have been good for them but those type of options are no longer likely.

Like elsewhere in life if someone is difficult to deal with for whatever reason, next time you will go to someone different

Might as well be Celtic ;)

I think clubs always try it on against City but so many of these negotiations come down to people's egos. I believe the Kane deal died when Levy briefed his pals in the press that "he wouldn't even pick up the phone when City called." In this case Brighton briefed the local media that "they were laughing in the boardroom when they saw City's offer." I am pretty sure that finished off any goodwill.
City's management are very sensitive about poisonous briefings to the media by other clubs...for obvious reasons. Let's see where Brighton finish in the league. Perhaps we will have the last and the loudest laugh.
Without a doubt City will have the last laugh if that's what you would call it. BHA have did very well in the PL, but that was mainly down to Potter getting more out of the team than the sum of its parts. Their Chairman is perfectly within his rights to get the most for his players, but outside briefings to the press look unprofessional to say the least.

This season will be harder for them no doubt, Honeymoon over, I believe they will do somewhere between the other seaside clubs, Blackpool and Bournmouth in the Prem the last 10 or so yrs. Probably stay up this season is my guess then relegation in the following two.

But when Potter goes its free fall.
Everton, were sniffing last year, im sure he would also be on a potential candidates list to replace managers at Villa, Spurs or Leeds, and two or more of those four clubs will change managers again this season.

It took a while for us to learn with Di Laurentis at Napoli but I have a feeling we got our own back with the Koulibaly saga; not sure how genuine our interest was there, despite that ‘mistaken’ media release we put out. I don’t have a problem with Brighton’s valuation but as you say, there’s a way of doing things.

There are certain negotiations that leave a particularly unpleasant taste.
Di Laurentis at Napoli, Levy at Spurs and now we can add Bloom to the list of bellends who conduct business in the media to serve their own egos and ends and try to ride roughshod over normal none disclosure practices. Just never deal with them again, ever.
