I think he wants to play in midfield and wants to be more than a back up lb. I don’t see why we would’ve forced him out, can’t have been a financial decision.Never got that impression
The irony is he played lb tonight for Arsenal as Tierney wasn’t fully fit, but I think Arteta is planning to start him in midfield and cover lb when needed; that’s a lot of game time.

The club were fine with him leaving, however they should have waited until we got a replacement.
Clubs know were desperate to fill that spot and will be quoting inflated figures for their players because of it.

Feels a bit like transfer business lesson 101 though? We must have been desperate getting rid of Zinchenko quickly. We have tried for a few years and he has insisted on staying. The club saw their chance but never imagined Brighton would be fucking us over.
