How does that affect your theory that if the player wants a move he gets it?
Okay theres no player power and they dont get what they want nowadays ,lets leave it at that ,pretty sure at man city if u want a move, pep lets u have it no problem,so yer pretty sure it exists pal

We have to bear in mind Ake was only two years into his contract so if it was a 5 year deal we may have only paid £16m of the £40 he cost. Cucurella would be a similar amount and Brighton could ask for the cash up front, it’s not simple with FFP but with Agent’s fees it’s never a case of sell one player for £50m and buy another for £45m and make a profit, let’s leave the net spend trophy to the Dippers.

The noises around this deal have been strange since day 1. First we where apparently waiting for Sterling now pol is saying ake deal holding it up. Once Sterling is confirmed we have 2 squad spaces spare and have brought in huge fees as you rightly highlight.

Something about this deal just doesn’t seem right.
Just don’t believe everything you read then lol

Both contract will be amortized over the life of the contract for FFP regardless of how they are actually paid so. We will book a profit on Ake and pay for Cucurella over 5 years. Your right on the 16 million figure agents fees I think will have been paid last year could be split over the life of the contract don’t think they will be that big a factor

We'll use the Ake money if he signs for Chelsea, and some more, so he won't cost much when you even everything out. Having Walker and Cuckoo bombing down both wings will give us a massive advantage.

I'd actually say with those two doing that, the likes of Bernardo, KDB and Phil pinging balls through from midfield, and Jack, Haaland, Álvarez and Mahrez up front working their mischief (oh and Cancelo and Rodri marauding from the edge of the box from time to time just for fun), well… it makes us well nigh unplayable.

But we need Bernado and Ake to stay too

I might put this post on three threads as it applies to them all.

I just listened to Why Always Me podcast with Pol Ballus and Sam Lee and they said that City will not now sign Cucurella until they either know Ake is staying or sign a replacement for Ake. Pep is insisting on 4 centre backs as a priority and, as a result, all City’s efforts are going into sorting this out. Only then will they try for Cucurella later in the window. The expectation is that they will get him in the end too. Zin is staying.

They also discussed why would City let Chelsea disrupt their plans like this when the obvious thing to do is keep Ake, sign Cucurella and finish. They didn’t know why other than City must have a plan and have a good reason for it in addition to only doing one deal at a time.

So if they are right keep an eye on the centre half situation before the left back signing.

That will be the sum total of City’s business and they are going as fast as they can looking for a CH but no names have been leaked so far though Pol says he is constantly trying to find out.

So it’s either one more in and none out OR two more in and one out.

It would make more sense from the outside to get Cucurella in and then we can’t lose but the feeling was that the Ake deal was much more advanced than Cucurella and City want to finish it off one way or another asap.

My own opinion is that it comes down to money. I think City are looking to use the Ake money to buy a decent centre half for less money than they receive for Ake. This excess then goes towards the Cucurella deal.

Hope the above helps. I’m just the messenger.

Watch City sign Cucurella later today now!
Zero place for Zinchenko in this squad IMO and @93.20blue said he will be leaving the club. I can't see Zinchenko staying if we will sign Ake's replacement and Cucurella.

I thought we were supposed to use the Sterling money towards Cucurella, now we’re waiting on the Ake money?

Really don’t think the club is worried about the Ake deal going through before going onto Cucurella.

Hoping this is just one of those deals that is completed rather quickly and we’re not hearing much because the club likes working in silence. Need to get him in as much training before the season.
