This thread is about Marc Cucurella, thanks.

In the interests of taking us back on the rails:

How many people here would start Cucurella over Cancelo at LB, if we do get him?

Do people think he will move Cancelo back to the right, where he seems to be less dependable?
Would depend on the opposition and what we wanted from the left back in any particular game.Or right back for that matter. All about options.

I have a feeling Cucurella will start over Cancelo, with the idea of him taking up a high-and-wide spot and Grealish being allowed to move further inside and drift around like the sexy chance-creator he is around Haaland and De Bruyne. We're really not playing to Jack's strengths by moving him outside with Joao drifting inside. I suppose the question then becomes: who do we think will play better for us moving inside, Grealish or Cancelo?

Well eventually that's the idea but i do think City will start the season with Cancelo and Walker as normal.

Putting Fernandinho for his last match will never be a mistake in my eyes, it's risky thing to do for sure but Pep wants to give a club captain have been given so much for our team a nice parting gift.

Our manager is not some heartless man that only cares about winning, he also the man that cares deeply for player that given so much like Fernandinho for our team.

It's sentimental decision that will risk our chance to win the title, but it's also the reason on why he is one of the greats. He is not only have genius mind, but also a great man that able to connect with his player and bring the best of them.
i could see trouble for ferna(one of my all time favs) up against antonio who is built like a brick shithouse and fast as fuck, sentimentality shouldn't be anywhere near professional football, and i'm 100% certain it wasnt why pep chose ferna to start

Either this deal is not that far along OR journalists around City and Brighton right now have zero clue about what is going on regarding this deal.

The fact it’s gone quiet is usually a pretty good sign negotiations are progressing as expected at City.

We aren’t a vocal Club in briefing journalists on where our deals are up to - and tend to expect agents to behave the same way.

When agents start gobbing off to their media mouthpieces is when we often stop trusting them, and you will frequently see us pulling out of potential deals when we see this happening too much.

In fact, we tend to use the media to brief against a story when we feel our name is being used by an agent or club as part of their negotiations.

The fact the latter hasn’t happened - and the fact this story has gone so quiet - would suggest the deal is ticking along more or less as expected from our end.
