At the end of the day I could not care less whether he comes or doesnt come, I will trust the management team to do the right thing, exactly as they have for thelast 6 seasons,

But one thing is for sure, if he doesnt come, then on the final day of the season when he is celebrating his we came 15th 14th 13th trophy and city players are collecting yet another shit load of winners medals, and Nathan, jack, phil, erling and the rest are dancing on the pitch, he will be straighht on the phone to his agent and saying oi dickhead your sacked, look at what the fuck i could have won, why am I not there
That's the case of not having the powerful agent like Barnett, Mendes or even guys from CAA Base. They would arrange him the move. His agency is not so powerful, they only have such a BIG PLAYERS like Demirbay or Lucas Klostermann in their portfolio. With all respect - they are small fishes in the pond. The wise agent would estimate his potential and potential transfer by negotiating release clause on the level of 40-45m£ and I'm sure we are interested in him for a long time.

Plan C is actually to still sign someone after the season has started but before the window closes.

Its still a really stupid plan as the nearer the first of September is the more desperate you become and the higher the price.

Pep has already had pre season without 4 players turning up. Going into the season having not tried an orthodox left back in his team (other than the marvellous but very young Esbrand) is really bad considering how well we are run. I’d like to see one season where Pep wasn’t having to start it with a make do and mend built into the team. Imagine what he could do then!

I would hope City put in a best and final offer for Cucu and, if it’s not accepted by a certain date, make an offer elsewhere. I also hope that offer is made this week.
Relax. They've got this.

City is completely right in terms of their valuation. We have signed Mendy as the most expensive left-back ever for over 50M£ and it was a complete disaster. The next is Ben Chillwell who was signed by Chelsea for slightly above 50m€ and in that time he was 10 x player than Cucurella is. Brighton is overvaluing Cucurella for about 10-15m£ and they are completely deluded with their valuation, but unfortunately they have the right to behave like that, good for them. We are right that if the potential buyer would be Spurs or Chelsea they would sell him for 35-40M£, it's City's tax because we have paid big money for fullback in the past. He is not the best left-back in the world, for me he is not even in top10 left-backs in the world and he probably will never achieve the level of Davies, Theo Hernandez, Robertson, Alba, even Chillwell. For that kind of money you are buying a cyborg, machine and Kyle Walker has proved that. For me Cucurella is 35-40M£ at his best and still I would have an impression that he would be a little bit overpriced. The real concert is his contract till 2026, lack of powerful agent and probably lack of release clause too ;) Everyone knows that paying 50M£ and breaking the record for Mister Cucurella is a complete madness.

So if he is 20M£-rated player by City, then why not to have him as a Walker's back-up? We have rejected Forrest and Soton too...
It's an interesting one. Why would Soton be in for him when they have Tino Livramento and Kyle Walker Peters?
