Delphis old an injury prone. Zinchencko got to City as a kid. Played leftback every year since he got here. He is a Leftback. Sure he is a fantastic mid too.

Do you also think Zabaleta isn't a Rightback?

And Kompany became a shit centre half.

Where did I question his full back status?

It's far easier to just say you were wrong he wasn't a lifelong full back, But I suppose that wouldn't fit in with belittling other posters opinions.

Zinchenko has now won FOUR premier leagues playing left back.

How anyone can actually say “he’s not a left back” is beyond me.

He is our best LB by a long way, Cancelo gets away with it because 90% of the season we are on the front foot & Cancelo is excellent going fwd & turning into the midfield spaces but he can't fucking defend

Zinchenkos feet, passing is outstanding he gets us out of a hole easily with the inside or outside balls
When he dropped in at LB in the last part of the season he defo changed made us solid & the shape was much better

The Villa game Absalutely proves we can't let him go 100% he has to stay the fans & this club are everything to him

Look at the over lapping he does & we definitely hit the goal line so much more than we did with Cancelo playing

Yeah, Guardiola has told us that Zinchenko is playing out of his position for many years, but the forum specialists have decided that Zinchenko is a left-back despite having not so many attributes for a typical LB.

100% I love Cancelo not having a dig at him but that quick flow of passing doesn't happen it's a Right footer doing what they naturally do turn inside

You watch when Cancelo & Grealish play together it's definitely not a match made in heaven

It's tough because of the points we accumulated over each season it's always the shit games we remember which aren't many but these slight changes which imo a naturall left footer & Right footed player at the back should play in there own position

Cancelo is moved into the LB role to keep him happy imo

Walker can't play week in week out 5 subs will give us more protection going fwd

We need a LB to share duties with Zin imo

Compared to who? Cancelo? Walker? Marty Cash? The Liverpool RB?

Take the final game, Cancelo, a fullback, lost Cash inexplicably on their 1st goal. Then Cash turned around and lost Gundogan multiple times in 10 minutes., These are all lifelong fullbacks. No one questions their 'fullbackness".

I think Zinchencko is an underappreciated fullback. Perhaps Cucurella is a better defender or maybe he just plays on a team that defends more and has more help... We'll find out soon enough :)

What is clear is that many of the hyped modern attacking fullbacks lack primarily on the defensive end. Zinchenko nice guy solid squad member to fill in but never someone you want to be relying on defensively in the biggest matches. As for Angelino please - never of the required quality for City.

Yeah, let's pretend that Zinchenko is a top-class option when Liverpool has Robertson, Bayern Alphonso Davies, and Real Madrid Ferland Mendy. All of them are different gravy in comparison to Zinchenko. Solid squad member, but nothing more.
