Bloom didn't want it smooth. If you've noticed, every Brighton fann pipes up about how great of a poker faced negotiator he is and how he won't budge. This for him and sadly some of the fanbase is about ego.

I'd someone has a mouthpiece that acts like a child (Naylor) and condones it. It's about ego.

It's the off-season, we like every other team ( including Brighton) can and are supposed to show interest in players on other teams we'd like. And both teams negotiate a deal.

Every now and then, you run into ego driven types, and that's just unfortunate. From all the 'Bloom is the greatest ' post, I had already sensed the childlike attitude. It's a business. Everyone buys and sells. You negotiate or you won't. Either way life goes on.
Brighton fans win the ‘we stuck it to City’ trophy for this summer. Personally I prefer our approach of treating our players who want away with respect and facilitating a move if we possibly can.

Not sure of Cucurella has gone on strike. If he has, we should wait a bit more. Let Bloom's ego derail the entire Brighton preparation for start of the season. Brighton plays 5 PL games in August and if Cucu remains on strike for all of those games, we can get him on the deadline day for the amount we see reasonable.

Amateurish? When was the last time we had a proper Leftback? Kolarov? And how many titles have we won since.

Some will give their left nuts to be this amateurish. Golly!!!
It staggers me how many people on here think our Club’s management team have no idea what they are doing. We have what is probably the best team managing the best run Club in the world.

If we havent signed a player to fill a particular hole in the squad it’s either about to happen and if doesn’t we will revert to plans B C and D (because these details will have already been discussed and planned for).

i don’t like us not having a specialist left back but Pep seems pretty relaxed about it, and as he knows a bit more about football than me, I’m not stressing about it.

Brighton are making themselves look very small time.

Rather than ballooning over a pre ordained fee they should be cultivating a relationship with us.

We could cosy up. They give us dibs on future Cucarellas whilst we regularly send the best of our youth there for experience and game time, either on loan or with buy backs.

Noses being cut off just to spite faces the stupid cunts.
Or they didn't want nor need to sell their best player at the price City were offering.

Give them dibs? Haha. Do they get a little pat on the head as well.

If Brighton think the lad will give 100% for um all season after handing in a transfer request which clearly shows to all involved he wants to better himself elsewhere and play in all the big comps and don't wanna be there then there as deluded as there owner

Flip the coin with zin..gabby and raz they clearly approached the club with there concerns on playing time etc and was sent on there way with our blessing no questions asked

Our scouting system has helped us win 4 of the last 5 league titles as well as league titles in Australia, India, USA, and Japan as well as promotions in Uruguay, France, Spain, China and Italy.

No one has a scouting system as wide ranging and high quality as CFG. We have local knowledge of 11 different markets, something no other club has (bar other CFG clubs). Half a million player pool with world-class analysis and scouting.

Scouting isn’t all about unearthing gems. It is if you are a selling club like Dortmund or Brighton. You need to bring in cheap players and sell for high as its part of your business plan. Our MO is picking players that can improve us and take themselves on to a new level. Our scouting is so good we almost never miss in the market. In the last 5 years we’ve only had one major mistake (Mendy) and numerous world class signings - building a world class squad with a fantastic atmosphere and a blend of characters that compliment each other.

Also what about Zinchenko, Jesus, Bazunu, Lavia, Sancho, Brahim, Harrison, Mooy, Moreno, Ikatura etc? We made £125m+ profit on that lot. Wilson-Esbrand, Kaboré, Delap, Bobb, Herrera, Couto, C Doyle, Burns, Kayky and Sarmiento will surely bring in even more profit.
Good response, fair play.

Could be even more obtuse.

Txiki: £50 million then.
Bloom: £50 million. I won't take a penny less!
Txiki: But that's what I've just offered you…
Bloom: £50 million, I say. Don't think that you can lowball us.
txiki- £55m
bloom - nope
txiki- then wtf do you want?
bloom - little caressing on my tiny dick head and a gentle kiss.
txiki- stand by your bed !!
