For those saying that we should have walked immediately - is that a negotiating tactic?

For those saying he is not that good anyway - are you suggesting our scouting is poor?

For those saying he has had one season in the PL - Haaland and Alvarez have none.

For those saying that we shouldn't have let Zin go, his tears should have shown you that it was the time he had chosen.

Just get a grip: we liked the player and he was one of the best in the league last year; he also is known to the board and played for Spain through the age levels. We have no idea, other than some Twitter gossip, whether the deal is dead in the water, or not. We don't know if Chelsea are viable contenders for his signature, or not.

We have a wonderful squad but will go into the season short in the full-back areas. However we dress it, that is just a fact. Personally, my first choice would be that we buy at least one full-back. If not, I would like to see JWE backing up Cancelo and Rico Lewis backing up Kyle. I am not a fan of centre-backs playing full-back and, regardless, our centre-backs could do with playing fewer games, not more as essential cover. I do not care if they (JWE and RL) are 20 and 17 - if we believe in their quality, we should be playing them in the cup games and in substitute appearances right from the season opener.

Selling Zinchenko 1st before a replacement is the biggest problem. Brighton knew we were desperate so held us to ransom.

All I'm going to say is that if Chelsea are immediately in for him the moment that City seem to be publicly out of the running, that might suggest he's worth the price ;)

For Chelsea maybe, but we know better and walk away from this deal bud if we think he is too high for our valuation of him.

The lad has had one season in the PL, his form could've been a fluke, maybe not we'll see, but paying over 3 times what they paid is a gamble from our point of view.

Also i wonder if he's getting paid like a £50m player?
If not and Brighton think that's what he's worth and he's that good, if i was him, i would be requesting a significant pay rise!

Brighton probably think if we were stupid enough to pay for goulash 100m then they see their asset worth and a better player than cucu at 50m no matter what they picked him up for ....its cities fault and on hindsight I'd flog him back to villa now get some money back

Makes not the slightest difference.Thye wanted £50mill plus before we sold him they still do , we wouldn't pay it before we won't now.

And it's not like we haven't got a LB in Cancelo, with Ake as backup. Don't forget we aslo have JWE from the EDS who has featured at LB in pre-season.

in terms of depth it’s the worst in the top 6. So, no that’s not good enough. Barely got us past last season with Zinchenko in there too.
