That extra £11m added to his £25m transfer fee is £36m so was it the wrong call?

Will be interested to see what our first bid is and what happens. I think we'll make a few attempts for Cucurella because of the fact he's young and knows the league. But we will walk away if it becomes silly, and I'm not sure Brighton will turn down the money - your model now is buying cheap and selling high and it's working well. If you can replace Cucurella with someone half as good for cheap and buy someone who can put the ball in the net then you'll instantly be a better team anyway. The football you played last season was excellent but that lack of a goalscorer is your main issue.
It was worth it in the end we finished 9, highest ever place.

Bloom wants us to be a top 10 side cosistently . The total for Bissouma iz quoted as 25 + 10 in add ons, Bloom is a gambler so if the add ons and if the quoted amount is correct its worked out ok for him.

I also think by not allowing Bis to go in January it showed that he is prepared to have maybe an unhappy player for a bit then grant him a move for the correct price. Risky game i know but thats Bloom.

He done this with Dale Stephens and Dunk also to some extent Dan Ashworth by not allowing him go to Newcastle straight away.

The reality is players aren’t really fussed about getting more assists compared to getting trophies. If any club, who can win stuff, comes in they will be interested. We’ve been there we know what it’s like, you want to believe your player is different, but they’re not.

If we want him we won’t pay more than our valuation, if that’s enough to entice you seagulls or not is another story all together. There’s another club located just outside Manchester who’ll pay whatever you ask + 10% but that’s not us.
True and i have never said he will stay with us, any player would be mad to turn down City, trophies double/triple his wages, what im saying is Bloom will have a figure he wants if its not met he wont sale as we dont need to, a risky gamble i know having a possible unhappy player but he has done it before.

We know Charlie. We know because 6 other Brighton fans have felt compelled to sign up and say the same thing.
I think i may have signed up hear before them other than the idiot seagoals. He was the reason i signed up to try to shut him up and stop making a fool out of himself, unfortunally there is only so much help you can give some people.

Fair enough Charlie and similar to how City do business, we have a value and if the other club want more than we are prepared to pay, we walk away.

Not sure that's necessary.

Our ground holds 32000 and is normally sold out. Brighton have always had a good fan base. In the 46 years of supporting them I can assure you the support has always been there, events as well documented nearly saw the club disappear. If it wasn't for direct action of thousands of those supporters the club wouldn't be here.

I will add the club owns its ground and is not a council tenant.

It's easy to slang off other fans and clubs but we all have one real interest and that's our own team. It's not about slapping down other fans for fun. Your fans are living the dream, fortunate that wealthy owners are prepared to pay for your entertainment. We are no less fortunate that a lifelong fan happens to a billionaire. We benefit from the fact he and his family are true fans of the club. Therefore while attempting to run it as business he also has full empathy with the fans.

I fully expect Cucurella to leave us if Bloom believes it is in the best interests of the club and player. I'm certainly not itk and read the same rubbish as most others. Some Brighton fans who have appeared on here have posted crap. One though mentioned "bumping" into Bloom who imparted some sound bite. Possibly he did, as has been posted he and the especially the CEO Paul Barber are well known to be very approachable. In truth what Bloom was supposed to have said is nothing more than an expected answer, certainly nothing new, it will cost a lot to get him.

As of yet there doesn't appear to any credible reports that any official approach has been made. If he does go to you I'll watch with interest his progress.

Obviously you are now in a position of ultimate strength in assembling a squad but those of yesteryear will always remember when you get someone special. Cucurella is that player for us now. While you spend your time enjoying their time with your club you're always aware they are only using you as a stepping stone waiting for their dream move.

Success for a smaller club normally ends up with a rebuild with the best players being picked off by the bigger clubs. The football pyramid relies on it to distribute some wealth down the league's.
Your fans didn’t boo Potter and the players last season? Like when you drew 0 0 at home to Leeds and you were 8th? I appreciate you might not have done but plenty did. I think when Brighton fans come on here telling us what we can do and for how much, you can expect a bit of stick. Sorry if it upset you though

It’s a genuinely tricky situation. If he prices him out of a move it might make it harder for Brighton to attract players versus other clubs who don’t do that. On the flip side you can’t progress if you sell your talent if your business model is to progress on the pitch rather more than it is to make a profit.

I think the unhappy player part is overrated- he’s not briefing for a move although he’s been a bit of a rascal on Twitter but I shouldn’t read too much in to that. Kane was desperate for his move, was unhappy when it didn’t happen but even so after a fashion he pulled his socks up and got on with it.
