Can’t see this happening now it’s gone on too long and he’s away to Portugal with Brighton on a pre season tour, he wouldn’t of went if the deal was close to being completed
If we offer £45 million the deal gets done but they don’t need to sell so they can sit on the deal . We are waiting to see what happens with ake before we commit I think .

Yeah I know what you mean if only there was this invention like a machine what had wings and could fly people around the world. Oh well. Next!

I doubt he’ll play 4-2-3-1 much apart from the biggest games and even then Bernardo/Phillips will be a hybrid 6/8, switching pendent on where the ball is and how we need to beat the press.

He will, at times play 2 up front too, which is where I’d see more advanced fullbacks coming in.
If you advance the fullbacks, most likely one of the 8's will have to drop to be an extra holding midfielder along with Rodri to protect against counters. Then it becomes a 4-2-3-1.

Both, yeah. If just left back, Walker’s pace allowed us to have a back 3 with Rodri screening it.

We struggle with that formation when Walker isn’t playing.

I hope this deal gets done soon, a natural lb who is strong both offensively and defensively. It seems to have gone a bit quiet in terms of the links to other potential lb targets eg Ait Nouri and Raum which hopefully is a positive sign.

It will take some time because we don't know what will happen with Ake. IMO he will stay because we will not find a replacement on a reasonable price. If Cucurella would join, I can't see a place for Zinchenko to be honest.

If Zinchenko becomes our 3rd choice left back, how much game time do you think he will get?
If we buy Cucarella, the intention is to start him imo, then Zinchenko will likely be his backup with Cancelo and Walker fighting it out for RB spot.
I think who plays RB will be dependent on which CH's are playing.
If we have injuries like last season then Walker will play, but if Stones and Dias or Dias and Laporte are playing, then i think Cancelo will play as he's the better option going forward.

Walker will still be our 1st choice rb next season imo. Whilst Cancelo is excellent going forward, he's not as strong defensively and doesn't have the pace that Kyle possesses.

So I’ve been told that it’s now in Brighton’s hands, they know our valuation and it won’t move. It seems we have put our cards on the table
Welcome Cucu -:)

Once the dust settles, cool heads will prevail.

£45 + add ons is more than enough.

Shit or bust - I like it!

I guess both City and the player - and Brighton too, for that matter - need to know where he’ll be playing next season, so we’ll have our answer soon enough.
