Your post is more insane than thinking a quality left back, at 24 years of age and years on his contract, being bought for 50m being insane.

We bought Phillips for 42m a player out for most of last year and had a good year the year before. Two years older and primarily brought in to be Rodri’s back up. Seems we pick and choose when we want to penny pinch
So the only thing that matters when it comes to price is age? FFS...

Value is about assessing RISK - all transfers are a risk to some degree but some things mitigate the risk (prem proven, CL proven, International player, proven record of not being a nob etc) and I have no idea on that last one but Cucurella doesn't tick ANY of the other boxes.. so BIG RISK hence not just slapping £50m on the table

So instead of calling people insane why don't you give me any kind of rational reason why he's a "quality left back"

You can't - your just presuming 12 months at Brighton with 1 season in the prem is enough to risk £50m on and it just isn't...

I see we are taking the Cucu situation well then -:)

1 game where the team was not up to speed and all hell has broken loose.

Let me guess:

The club is shit
Txiki useless
How could we sell Zin?
Pay the fucking money
Best window to worst window
Anyone now linked is inferior to a player we had never heard of not 1 year ago.

Why City? Fucking why?

As you were peeps!
We have been talking about him all summer not just after a friendly defeat, that’s some desperate shite you posted there mate. City needing a left back is not a new topic.

Well it’s only age if that’s the only bit you choose to read. We paid 42 for a player injured a lot of last year to come in and play back up. But 50m for a full back which is quite often the going rate isn’t. Weird. His age matters of course. We pay 50m and get 6 or 7 years out of him then it’s a bargain. here’s some rationale, the best club in England want him and have wanted him all summer, because we’ve scouted him and really rated him. 30m is fine for us to value him at, just don’t waste a summer chasing a club who aren’t budging. Move on weeks ago.

In contrast to the Haaland negotiations, which were handled brilliantly, this has been poorly handled by the hierarchy at City. If we're drawing a line in the sand at 40m, why wasn't this made clear 6-8 weeks ago, instead of it dragging on? And on, and on, and on. As for selling Zinchenko without having his replacement nailed down with a signed contract; it defies belief, really. Now, we'll likely be starting the season with no specialist, experienced LB.

Don't agree, the season starts in 5 days, or started 2 days ago depending on your perspective.

Manchester City should have a left back at the start of the season.
We should try and get the LB from last years team of the season.

For me his biggest defensive weakness is moving constantly into the middle of the defence and marks no-one, which gives players like Salah the freedom of the park and by fuck we were found wanting in that dept and not for the first time.

Klopp knows our weakness down the left and salah got him in his pocket
