Really frustrating City won’t just add an extra 10m for a left back who can play like how we would want him to and can stay for 10 years.

The problem is you could offer the extra £10m and still not get him. Bloom wants in excess of £50m and now money bags Chelsea are in town.

If we're at this point in a month's time then I'd agree, however, there is still plenty of time to get a left-back. I'd rather we had it sorted now, but we don't live in a perfect world. Cancelo has played plenty of games for us at left-back and will manage a few more. It's not every week he comes up against Salah and he certainly won't in the next four weeks. I'd rather the club take stock and not panic.

Selling Zinchenko before signing a replacement is an absolutely farcical way to go about business.

I know I know, the board are all geniuses and some people on here would make criticising them a crime punishable by death, but they are prone to fuck ups like this driven by nothing but their own stubbornness on occasion.

To some extent it is and has to be, but then there are occasions when you know you are going to have to extend yourselves to get what you need in a difficult, competitive and scarce market place. Then lick your wounds and cut your cloth afterwards - but at least you've hot what's needed. All within reason of course - as I think rhis was.

Depends what.importance those who aoorove a BP give to the item I suppose.
If bonuses come out of the profits and an asset is bought for 10 or 15 million more than budget would you go outside of the BP?
After all the BP was originally prepared by the negociatons then approved so saying sorry I was wrong by millions of pounds may not be fully understood by those who put their trust in them.
Again, maybe certain situations may allow for overspend but owners are likely to say OK but at your risk to be seen if it os worth it at bonus time.

The only thing I can’t fathom is the selling of Zinc before any LB was confirmed.

Any decent club would have the foresight for it and this is City, juggernaut of a football club who is ran excellently by few people should have not sold Zinc.

So it’s a mistake and let’s move on from there.
It would have been totally fine if we would go back to Zinc and say Dude Cucu deal ain’t happening. We will depend on you for this season too. A professional and lovely you like Zinc would have agreed and we would have been fine.

This no left back situation with the season to start is a bit tricky and I wouldn’t want Pep finite energy to be spent again on figuring out our left backs.
