Great signing for Chelsea, if you think he’s of the quality required then you pay the fee.

Potentially the best part of a decade of having the player, or even 5 years and some re-sale value.

City’s penny pinching over this one could be something we regret.

Walker £50m, Mendy £50m (ffs), Cancelo ~£50m. Stones £50m, Laporte £60m, Ake £40m, Dias £60m.

As an outsider it was pretty clear what the valuation would be.

They probably thought the same when they bought Havertz, Werner, Chilwell, Kovavic, Kepa, Pulisic & Morata…

All 25 or under and cost £40m+

I'll judge the value of this deal in a couple of years. I haven't forgotten the grief we got for the fee we paid for Walker which turned out to be an absolute bargain. We'll see.

Correct……asking price has never been revealed (at least not to us plebs), but was always ‘more than Ben White’. Bit surprised at Chelsea’s random splashing of vast sums….hopefully clueless owners who’ll mess everything up. Horrid club.

I was fully on board when I thought the price was £50m.

Really good player but I'd struggle to understand us paying De Bruyne/ Dias/ Rodri/ Mahrez money for him. Glad we backed off if this fee is true.

Only problem is, I don't see us being seriously linked with anyone else now.
