Marco Reus

Would love to see him in the shirt. Can see him going to Bayern since Robben and RIbery are getting on.
Can anyone tell me what the buyout clause if meant to be?
I've read both €25m and €35m (around £28m). Peanuts compared to what he's really worth in today's market.

Cheers, alot of clubs will be interested but i reckon if he was going to play in England, city would be the most attractive club to join

I'll be fuming if he signs for them. He's THE player I'd like us to sign.

Cerezo said he'd turned down United, not sure why FouthOfficial left that out - unless he's a rag. :-)

Mad scramble for Reus next summer unless Klopp convinces him to sign a new deal - I fancy Bayern to get him in their continuing attempt to destroy their domestic rival.

I agree with what Raphael Honigstein said about Reus on BT on Sunday that Rummenigge wouldn't have come out with those buyout clause comments if he knew Bayern had a chance of signing him, they kept Götze on the quiet and if they were going after Reus they would have kept that quiet.

Honigstein reckons it's a comment to make everyone in Europe wake up to Reus' buyout and a kind of ploy to make it clear that if Bayern can't have him then we will make sure someone else can have him and in result disrupting Dortmund.

Actually I thought the same when Rummenigge talked. Probably because I watch that theatre since years. If Rummenigge or anybody wanted Reus or would know that they have the chance on him (I am not so sure what it is - actually I think it has a lot to do with his agency, too. They wanted Götze so badly that they accepted it but in the Kroos' story you knew that that was a factor, too, and as I remember some interviews from Rummenigge of 2 or 3 years ago - I never was surprised that they did not make Kroos a better offer because of that interviews - it might influence the story) they would act differently.

Rumour on Twitter that Barca will buy him and loan him back for a year. With their transfer restrictions now firmly in place for the next few transfer windows it makes sense.

They will likely outbid most because they will need to add as much quality as they can before their ban ends. Dortmund probably would prefer a deal like this as well.

they were told they couldn't spend 40m on Cuadrado this window because of FFPR, so unless they want to get in trouble there as well then they can't afford Reus.

They would have to sell us Messi first for 20m + Sinclair, Micah and Guidetti

Also how would this work. I presume their transfer ban means they can't buy anyone. Now they might be able to agree something in principle but that would involve an agreed value. The market can change drastically in 18 months. Also Barca brought on about 5 or 6 academy prospects so what if 3 or 4 of them progress and come good in that period. They may no longer need him. Maybe Reus suffers an injury or loss of form. Maybe a new kid on the block comes on the scene. Maybe other positions become priorities.

These types of deals, the buy and loan back ones, are usually done with youngster to snare them whilst they are eveloping but allow them to stay with their current club to assist that development. I dont recall it happening with a player with a value in the £40/50m range

They can buy up until 31st August still.

How can they buy Suarez but not Cuadrado ?

My sums have us at £14M left with a probable sale of Nastasic to come. Reus would be the icing on the cake and cheap long term as we may not be as keen on Ross Barkley a year from now.

because they bought Suarez, then wanted Cuadrado.
