Marco Reus

I don't see Dortmund enough so correct me if I'm wrong but their style of play is quite diff from ours. They are best when pressing aggressively and counter attacking at rapid pace. Reus is a technically gifted player and I guess he can fit in our team style of slow deliberate build up play and we do need a direct inside forward/winger type of player. I thought jovetic is that kind of player but Reus would be an upgrade. Nasri plays a little deeper than Reus I believe and he is a different type of player, more of tempo controlling and possession type attacking midfielder.

If he goes overseas I presume England and Spain are the two likely options. In England, probably only us, Chelsea, arse, rags if they get back to CL next season and maybe Liverpool are attractive enough.

I doubt Chelsea needs another AM/forward with Oscar, schurrle, Willian and hazard. Unless they sell one. Arse may be a better fit as they have a good size German contingent there to welcome him and they are short of world class strikers, he can be used as a striker. Rags position is more uncertain as their current squad is weak and may not get back to CL next season although I think they will. I see Liverpool missing out on CL next season so they will be the least likely destination.

Adore this kid's talent he really is a joy to watch in my opinion and would love to see him in a city shirt but if his release really is 25mil next summer every club will be interested and the only club that he mightn't walk into is Real(but I can see them dropping Benzema and playing Ronaldo up top to make room). With Sivla, Nasri, Aguero and Dzeko signing new deals I cant see where he would play all those playesr would have been assured of first team footie before committing to the new deal wouldn't they? Think he will end up at Bayern but would go all out for him, a direct threat from the left is something we need, but if we do get him how do we stand with the squad restrictions? I would imagine he would be replacing Milner?

I think Reus would look at our side and feel he could offer a lot more than Nasri does on a consistent basis. It may cause Nasri to up his game.

Would love to have him AND Navas on the wings. In fact there's probably no player in the world I'd rather have here than him.

Just watched Reus play for and captain Dortmund against Bayer Leverkusen. They lost at home 2-0. Reus was very average and Dortmund were dreadful ( as was the match ).
Will judge him on later performances as he seemed to be playing out of position most of the game.

He is not fully fit just coming back from injury after missing all of preseason. He was supposed to be back in September and he has played one game, but Dortmund looked terrible. Just a lack of technical ability.

To answer a few questions Dortmund when they are playing well and have their players fit, play like Southampton/Liverpool. A very fast paced game with high pressing and quick intense passing.

Reus usually works very hard in the pressing, but when he is playing out wide unlike most other players of his level he does track back.

His best position is on the left for me in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, but he can play behind the main striker (not as a 10, but as a second striker). He is also effective on the left. When he and Gotze were in the team togehter thye often swapped flanks.

If Dortmund don't get Bender, Hummels and Gundogan fit soon then it is almost certain that Reus will leave next summer.

Where would he play?

Florentino Perez wants to lure Marco Reus as he wants to regain confidence of board members who are vexed after Di Maria departure.

I reiterate, F. Perez is going all-out for Marco Reus. Player has doubts over starting place [if he joins] + BVB not willing to sell though.

Carlo Ancelotti is an astute manager with a poor character. Doesn't have a say on transfers [expect for Kroos].

Going for Marco Reus is a decision made by Florentino Perez without notifying Ancelotti.

Tells you everything you need to know about that scaly invertebrate

He would be a fool to go there.

We're lucky now that all 3 of the big clubs clearly ahead of us (Bayern, Barca, Real) have 3+ nailed on forwards. Even if Reus is dumb enough to go to one of them, someone of exceptional quality has to leave.
