Marco Verratti

post on the last page says he has contract until 2017? Why a rush to renew

Think he's on a very low wage and for some reason PSG are being stingy in giving him a new one which doesn't sound like them. Still doesn't make much sense though because PSG have no reason to sell.

Would love to get him, but where would we play him? We've got a ton of midfielders and surely he'd want some first team action.

Would be great to sign him but we have Rodwell, Fernandinho, Yaya, milner and barry in the same position so 1 or 2 would have to leave.

Have no fear. Beppe Marotta has left the Juve tour in the US to do some urgent business - Eddie Woodward style - to wrap up the final piece of the cliched 'jigsaw' to complete the squad.

It should only take a few days and a large bag of €100 notes to land the heir to Pirlo. Unless it's to sell Matri to Napoli in exchange for Zuniga.

Paris St Germain's midfielder Marco Veratti has been linked with a move to Manchester United. The talented defensive midfielder has emerged as a possible transfer target for David Moyes' team this summer.

Veratti is currently locked in talks with PSG over a new contract, and discussions have apparently stalled after the Italian asked for nearly double his current salary.

The Andrea Pirlo-esque player impressed many at the Parc Des Princes last year, especially with a series of rousing displays in the Champions League. Man Utd have a budget of well over 50 million Euros to spend on new players.

PSG's sporting director Leonardo has placed a considerable price tag (£34m) on the player in January.

He told Italian football site Tuttosport: "There is no chance of any club signing him, especially as he is now worth no less than €30m or €40m

Utd have well over 50m Euros to spend :)

United is linked with damn near every young player thats "available"

Then when he doesnt sign with them, or stays with his club...then magically "United was never interested"

Gone to PSG for £9million rising to £11.2million with £30,000/week wages! He sounds like a great talent but those figures for a 19-year-old prospect to quote 'arry probably blew us and Juve out of the water! Damn you PSG for ruining football more than us.
Reading this quote 6 years on makes me laugh. 11 million and 30k a week for a 19 year now is what youth team players get.
