Looks like we are working on some deal as Pep mentioned but may not happen and hence Luiz is backup.
As for Verratti,there hasn't been any denial by anyone in English media like it was in case of Pjanic.
Best part : It won't be a long saga as there isn't much time left anyway

Clubs other than Wolves were interested (Fulham, Newcastle, etc) but since it is such late notice in the window if we brought someone in I could see us loaning Zinchenko somewhere in the prem, maybe with an option to buy.

Possibly but they would have known they needed to balance the books before now and would be tempting as many sides as possible into a bidding war. This guy is regarded as world class, no chance he’d be passed on to the first club who shows an interest.

They want alderweireld as well and let’s be honest, the sponsorship from their own government is a conflict of interest
Never happening the one slight advantage we have in terms of this transfer window is we would not have to get an empty space in the squad before buying.
We could buy and there would then be sufficient time to sell/ loan a player. We would not get good value because everyone would know we had to sell but Veratti for £80 million is value in this market.
