Marcos Lopes

If this lad gets sold or leaves without even playing him I will be pissed of in the extreme.. With our academy it's the wrong vibe by our manager not to at least have fucking 1 youth player on the bench today!!!

It's like saying 'this is my squad of 20 odd and i'll be fine just using them this season, ta' and just blindly ignoring the kids. Regardless of whatever they do. It's a huge misunderstanding of how footballers develop and its hugely detrimental to the future of the club.

Apart from the three games where we threw in Pozo to run about in a position that wasn't his own as a desperate last gasp measure (okay, the 15 mins in the Carling Cup when we were totally cruising too), not a single youth team player will get a minute on the pitch this season. That's absolutely shocking considering how good our youth set up is.

We won 6 out of 6 in the UYL group stage and battered huge teams with bit reputations, and will most likely reach the very latest stages of the comp, and yet apparently not a single one of them is worthy of a few minutes off the bench.

It was almost a slap in the face not including Evans in the squad today at least today after his performance midweek. He could rightly think 'what more could i have done?' ...It leaves me feeling numb and its made me totally fall out of love with Pellers if im being honest.

God i'm feeling so melodramatic about it that i just considered writing to the bloody club. Late nights and whiskey hey?

Needs a groundswell of fan opinion and action to let the club know that we want the kids to get a look in.

A lot of City fans don't give a fuck about that, or style tbh. Would be happy playing like Wimbledon with a team full of pensioners if we won stuff every year. Look at how few post on here.

I think there will be pressure from inside the club to do it next season though. But we have wasted this season as far as the kids are concerned , & it may result in a log jam of players further down the line & us losing some potentially good ones.

One thing you don't see is the question he was asked and to be fair if he was asked if he would like to stay with lille permanently or stay for longer at a club where he has 5 months still to play he is not going to say no! With a lot of our youth players we don't renew there contracts until they have 1 year left so I would assume he will sign a contract when he returns in the summer.
He also has until the end of the season to prove himself worthy of a place in the squad(I do believe he deserves 1 but it doesn't mean pelle does or txiki yet).

Comments like this from our best academy talents are concerning, the club needs to address the situation urgently.
Loans are designed to develop a player in order the parent club reaps the benefit and not so the individual gets to sample a more inviting environment elsewhere.

Hardly surprising though, if he takes a look at the chances his mates are getting why would he want to piss away a key year in his development not getting games at City when he's capable of playing first team in a top league. Needs to be way more pressure from Txixi about getting these guys on the bench at least.

I would also assume he would sign a new contract with City. But if one or two of the other kids had been given & chance & we gave the impression this season of being remotely serious about promoting kids to the first team, I'd be absolutely certain he'd sign. Why wouldn't he, if he had reason to believe City will bring him through ?

As it is, there is a small chance he will decide to turn it down. If he thinks City aren't going to play him next season, & he believes he is good enough, all he has to do is play one season elsewhere, then he can sign for whoever he wants, wherever he wants & play every week.

If Milner goes we should tell the lad there is a place in the squad for him and he will get 20+ games next season
