Marcos Lopes

Really impressed with him last night. Great strength and balance for a 19 year old. Granted it wasn't the best opposition but he showed he is definitely one that could even be played instead of a couple of regulars in the middle. Replacement for Garcia for example in the near future. I wouldn't send him out on loan. If we continue to stay in cup competitions he will be a regular feature, even against lesser teams in the Premiership.

What?

Thought he was excellent last night...not just his skill on the ball but with the positions he was taking up particularly between the lines. His work ethic was excellent and he was winning the ball against much stronger players.....he should have a very bright future as along as he keeps his feet on the ground.

I don't think we should be looking to loan the lad out at all...I think we should be looking to give the lad experience here off the subs bench when we can in games....and even in the FA cup (dependant upon opponent)....there is no reason he cannt come on in games in the prem (at home) for the last 15-20 mins if we are looking comfortable....playing next to yaya ferd and silva will be the best experience he can get

you could at least have 11 outfield players then... I'd have silva at lb, jovetic on the left wing and dinho alongside lopes.

Stick Dzeko in net so he can come up for corners and get Milner or Kolarov in there so we have more crossers and range shooters on the counter!

Not everything he did was technically perfect but it was the general authority with which he was playing that was astonishing. Every movement, every run was saying "yeah, I'm here and I have every right to be here, and you're going to be hearing a lot more about me". By comparison, Boyata seems to be shivering over in his corner as if he knows he's going to be found out - which, by the way, I'm not rushing to judge,at this level. (How do they compare age-wise, just out of interest?)

Boyata is 23, Lopes is 18. Boyata looked better at 18 than he does now, but nothing on lopes.
