Marcus Rashford lobbying govt to help vulnerable children

What is a shame is that Rashford will have inspired a lot of other footballers and Celebs who have the wealth to make a difference - many won’t come forward or have to act anonymously as otherwise they will be labelled as ‘jumping on the bandwagon’ ‘only doing it for PR’ etc.
Plus the ones who have already been doing things in the background long before Marcus got involved. But fair play to all of them. The ones doing things anonymously and the ones doing it upfront. :-)

Just read an interesting piece in The Times about this. It is saying this initiative for free meals for children whose parents receive benefits was part of a three pronged report on the subject. It was brought to Rashfords attention and he retweeted the section then contacted the writer, Henry Dimbleby. The people now backing the project initially dismissed it because it was commissioned by Boris in the first place. I don't think I am allowed to copy and paste it or if I am allowed to screenshot it and post that way. As I am only the messenger and you disagree with the article I suggest you should take it up with the journalist, Giles Coren, at The Times.

Look - I respect Marcus Rashford and what he has done/is still trying to do.... but is this not a bit too much?:

"Bury school renames dining hall in honour of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford..."

Feel sorry for the City supporting pupils and there will be many as it is localish having to eat in there.

FareShare has been around for 25 years, doing great work without attracting too much media attention. Since Rashford got involved in 2020, the press now refer to it as the "Marcus Rashford Campaign".
Naturally FareShare are delighted to have such high profile support and, through him have now got the government to listen. It's typical that politicians are only concerned when their popularity and re-election chances are threatened.
I have no doubt Rashford is sincere, but I do feel sympathy for those who have probably toiled for years without recognition when Rashford is honoured simply because of his recent figurehead status.
On their website FareShare do thank Rashford for his support "Since getting involved in 2020". Is that some sort of a reminder?

Daily Mail at it again with their stories. Continuously picking on young black lads

I was just about to post this, an utter disgrace. The same as the attack on Raheem. How dare a young black working class kid better himself! The racist classist bastards.

Depressingly predictable that they would start these kind of attacks on him.
