Everything has been agreed between Bayern, Fiorentina, and Gomez. The only thing holding up the completion of this deal is the sale of Jovetic.

I hope we pick up Jovetic and Isco, sell Tevez to Juve, and Gomez and Kolarov go to Fiorentina.
This!!!

Jovetic is not a player that we need. Yes he is technically gifted and versatile but he is unproven and too inconsistent to ever make any real positive difference, Remember everything is objective and on that basis I don't see how Jovetic will improve the squad in terms of goal scoring.

Gomez on the other hand is a very underrated goalscorer and with the offensive quality we have including from wide play, he will flourish and be a fantastic goal scorer for the team. So Gomez will be a good buy if the deal is possible and Gomez, Dzeko and Aguero will be a very potent strike force. Villa is another option- although close to his twilight he can still contribute with goals for at least 2 more seasons.

So I will be happy with:

Aguero, Dzeko, Gomez, Villa, Guidetti (if we opt to replace all the strikers that have been sold and go for the standard 4 striker roster plus a youth option)

Aguero, Dzeko, Villa or Gomez, Guidetti

Aguero, Gomez, Villa, Guidetti

I understand your reservations about Jovetic in terms of goals but that isn't the be all and end all. When you buy a player you have to consider statistical measures like goals and technical quality. In terms of the latter we couldn't possibly get any better than Jovetic, and players like El Shaaraway who are less technical are statistically on par with him in terms of goal return.

Gomez is a top class striker but even after Bayern fitted him into the team with a good goal return they pushed him on to the bench and now he is up for sale. He is a very limited player and as a team we have to be more than that. The great thing about Jo-Jo is that he could become like Bergkamp (very creative with a low goal return) or RVP (a technical and high scoring CF/ST) either would be a great success. If you look at those players their scoring ratio tells contrasting stories Bergkamp was a high scorer early on in his career whilst RVP was a low scorer, but later on of course the reverse is true.

Here is a list I made 2 months ago. It was slightly outdated by the end of the season but...

That's because he stands in the box waiting for an easy chance/tap-in.
No-one has doubted he is an exceptional finisher, he just adds little else to the team.

But thats what we`ve been shouting out for all last season.I couldn`t give a fuck where he is as long as its in that box, something Dzeko just doesn`t understand.

But he is not the only player of that type who we could buy, Fred could be useful in that sort of role too.

As a replacement for Dzeko. Sure.

Does he really want to spend time on the bench? Kun will be the starter. I thought he was leaving Bayern for a guaranteed starting spot. There's no such thing at City.

If we're buying him as a main striker to go along with Dzeko, Kun and Guidetti, I'll be sick.

I don't mean to be silly but i have to ask:

What on earth are you talking about?

Jovetic's stats don't tell the whole story. The kid is class and we should buy him. He has multiple paths to being world class. I think that sums it up.

I don't think he will become world class. he is a very good player and is exciting at times but in my opinion he is not good enough to give anything that the squad does not already have.

Mario Gomez?!

But why would we... But we've already got... But he's... Oh never mind...

A genuine goal- poacher.would sign him up tomorrow. As someone else has already said on herehe's a definate upgrade on all of the other numpty alternatives that have been suggested, in the press, over the last 48 hours.

Oscar Cardosa Indeed!! ...Micky Mouse player in a micky Mouse league

It's Cardozo and he isn't a Mickey Mouse player - 106 goals in 160 games for Benfica and 224 in 390 career games says so.

He knows where the net is, simple as that.

Not knocking Gomez though, he's also an exceptional finisher.

We can't have Edin and Gomez in the same team, two big center forwards in a side that has a possession based philosophy will not work.

I want us to go for a more complete footballer, keep Edin as our only target man.

I like Dzeko, however I feel Gomez has the same Target Man presence backed up by a damn good goal scoring record. I mean he got, what? 11 goals as a substitute last season.

Gomez all day for me if Cavani/Lewendowski can't be brought in

You just described Dzeko.
