Mark Clattenburg

Do you think Clattenberg got an easy ride from the crowd. Atkinson got so much stick from the Arsenal crowd that he decided to even things out and give a home decision. Do the city fans "accept " things too easily?

I have seen this guy be 5 yards away from Silva when he was clearly hacked down in the penalty box at Chelsea and say no pen. Towards the end of the same game he gave Chelsea a soft penalty in the same area which won them the game. This was in 2011 and from that game onwards we have never won a game with him in charge against a top six team in 10 attempts. I don't care that some of these non match going types tell us we're all embarrassing for believing the game is corrupt or biased. What I find embarrassing is their insistence it's just mistakes when it is clearly corrupt, and if they bothered to spend their hard earned money to see the same shit happening week in week out they too would smell the same stinking rat anyone with eyes and half a brain could see. The **** had the audacity to be in charge of the 6-1 and has been desperately trying to make amends with the dark side of football ever since. One day it will all come out but until then all we can do is support our team and hope these cheating bastards are brought to task. As for the naysayers I guess they were right when they said if you play with it too much you'll go BLIND!!!

That's a pretty damning stat and with some of the decisions he's made, people have every right to raise questions. Some people are so immersed in this way of life that they'll deny any form of wrongdoing on absolutely everything, even things much bigger and smaller than football.

Not watched SSN today. Is it being discussed ?
Yes, every man and their dog said it shouldn't have been given and was an awful decision, even Graham Poll has laid into Clattenburg on his mon morning referee rant. Theres me thinking sky had it in for us.

Sky started the day with the all conquering Spurs line and they finish the day still spouting it so job done as far as they are concerned. I will call the season right now and we can come back in May and discuss. Both Spurs and Leicester will be kept alive until the last 5/6 games at which point, Arsenal will be awarded the title. This is not sour grapes, it's the way this sham of a competition is decided and no doubt in future years, we will benefit from the exact same corruption bit it absolutely stinks.

They want a story, they want the drama and they want the armchair fan digging deep into their pockets and they get what they want.

Wow, keep the tin foil helmet on.

Are you suggesting that sky where trying their best to justify the decision? Quinn immediately said no penalty yet moments later after a word in his ear he is rambling on about how he can see why he gave it. Fucking absolute bollocks as you can't give a penalty if it's neither deliberate or as was the case, it doesn't even hit his hand or arm! The fact it's now being brushed under the carpet says it all.

Just shows that pundits are f*cking weak if that is what happened - despite the fact that Quinn is a cnut when commentating on City games anyway .

As somebody pointed out yesterday, even Andy Hinchcliffe is now putting digs in regarding City .

Souness is the only pundit who ever really speaks up for City and maybe Sinclair ( before the Rag loving BBC pull the plug on his comments )

The whole of the media are arse licking Rag organisations, and the BBC are just a disgrace.

Go an have a lie down.

And the Sun referee Mark Halsey amazingly said it WAS a pen in the paper this morning. Part of the same Murdoch empire as SKY.

The question was asked abt sky, Clattenburg has been ripped apart on there today and on talksport, I know that doesn't suit peoples argument.

To be honest, you're probably right, as much as we want to enjoy sports as a genuine competitive attraction, it serves as a vital tool in doing 2 things, making money and distraction. The amount of money being put into the EPL only further solidifies this as they'll be wanting the best competitive league possible. We could both be barking nonsense but to not at least entertain the idea is dismissive.

My dad mentioned it to me today that people where saying he could have gone yet we could not remember the one he did not get booked for and the one did was perhaps fair but soft. Kompany certainly got a very soft yellow

He did. I mentioned earlier on in this thread how the Spurs players were in Clattenberg's ear going off at the end of the first half, I presume about Yaya. Soon as the second half started Vinny received a very soft booking, then they got given the penalty.

Wow, keep the tin foil helmet on.

Why react like that? Are you threatened by the idea of living in a web of lies? Can't you entertain the possibility without ridiculing someone? Sports is rife with fixing and is no different from any other big business that cheats, lies and steals, so surely it's not hard to believe it's possible with EPL.

What's Pep like re whinging at refs ? I saw Barca do loads of it, but I can't remember re him.

I think that it's easier for people like Clattenburg to piss on our chips because we don't pressure him like others do. It's horrible, but I fear we will have to do it. Ferguson would have spent the past two weeks talking about previous shite decisions Clattenburg had cost us & Sky would end up showing all of them on replay.

Under those circumstances, there is not a chance in hell he would have given Spurs a dodgy pen, & let's face it, that was as dodgy as it gets. No way would that have happened, even to City, if we had made a fuss about his previous.

It's not hard to believe at all, and although many dismiss such claims as a " conspiracy theory " , money has and always will be a factor when such seriously incorrect decisions are made.

FiFA / UEFA/ FA /EPL - everyone of these organisations is a possibility for corruption due to the money washing around them.

Of course, Clattenburg could just be totally inept ........................................but my money is on him being bent to boot !

Clattenberg does seem to have a real issue with City. He referees any of the title challengers and his refereeing is sympathetic. I don't say bent deliberately but they get the benefit of any doubt at all: with City he can't wait to give wrong decisions which does maximum damage, as yesterday and as the hack on David Silva at Chelsea in 2011. No thinking time needed, this is City, penalty to Spurs. What did I see? Nothing, but there was a routine appeal from a Spurs player, so that's good enough for me.

I haven't heard any opinions from any pundits because I refuse to watch MotD, but I couldn't avoid Breakfastime this morning. That programme always reports that Manchester United are "still fuming" on Monday morning after some alleged refereeing howler on Saturday and other "injustices" (usually imaginary) suffered by the "big" teams are exploited to devalue the victory of another team,do, dutifully, Arsenal were "still furious" with the decision to award Leicester a penalty, but Arsenal had fought back to win 2-1 and we saw Wenger at his most smug telling us in detail about his team's "mental strength". I get the impression an important detail about the match was left out? Then we had a short report to tell us that Eriksson had struck late to give Spurs a deserved win at the Etihad. "What about Spurs? They're a good bet for the title!" The penalty has been given, let's forget it now and get the cover up carried out and move on to getting the BBC's scheduling to stuff City in the FA Cup, and, with any luck in the CL and C1C as well.

Could referee all of our remaining games and I don't believe our Club would say a damned thing.

Unfortunately there are some times when we need to be more like the wankers from Stretford.

This. Exactly right. We need to get smart. JM does it as well and as much as I dont like it this is exacty why he used to do it and it worked really well. We have to take this approach.
We wont thou. I think maybe it stems from being in this league for years and having the PL experience. Mind you, Bobby Manc never took any shit did he.

Bob had a go back at people, but not like Ferguson.

I really dislike it, but when you see Clattenburg doing this shit & that wanker v Everton not giving a blatant pen & costing us two points, that may be 5 points in a couple of recent home games.

I genuinely don't know how Pep operates in that regard, although I suspect refs will kiss his arse more because that's what they are like.
