Mark Clattenburg

Just seen nasri disallowed goal against the arse, call me bias but can't see why it didn't stand. And to make it worse arsenal scored a goal not too dissimilar to rescue a point against Palace and that stood. Sort it out officials check the rules(3-2 to CITY for me).

Really? Nasri was yards offside when Dzeko hit his shot. There's no debate about that one, it definitely shouldn't have stood.

Who knows what the latest version of the offside rule is. I doubt many of the refs and linesmen do.

But I'm pretty comfortable with that being called offside.

Can anyone find any footage of his Merseyside Derby performance way back that caused a stir?

I'd rather the foul on Kompany wasnt called, too soft for me. But you have to be consistent, and based on previous decisions he had given on the day it was definitely enough contact to be called a foul.

What's all this too soft, these days. It's either a foul or not. There aren't grades of fouls.
Apart from yellow and red.
It's a contact sport. Contact is allowed. So is a degree of physical handling. For me I would prefer that you are allowed to jostle with an opponent at set pieces. At some stage, jostling becomes a foul on your opponent, thats when it ceases to become "too soft" in my book.

But again, by the standards Clattenburg set in the game he had to call it a foul.
You mean that he has his standards, but won't raise them for City??

This brings up the old "interfering with play" chestnut!
Nasri was undoubtedly offside when Dzeko shot - but by any standards - since he was not in the keeper's line of sight and did not have to make any movement to avoid the player or the ball- was not interfering with play.
Since the ball struck the keeper and rebounded to Nas , then that would have made him active and since the ball was last played by an opponent before it came to him , he was onside.

Was that him that sent torres off for diving and then gave the scum 2 penalties?
In the season we beat the rags 1-6 and looked like running away with the league, we came unstuck against Chelsea at their place thanks to an incredibly partial refereeing display. Now what was the name of that referee?
He also famously refused to give Spurs that goal at Old Trafford when Roy Carroll chucked it in his own net

Remember Rooney Elbowing the Wigan player. Everyone said red. No card given. Guess who was ref:

I find it interesting that before the kick off quite a number of bluemooners said they were more worried about Clattenburgh than they were about Arsenal. How right they were. I think this says a lot about this clown who seems to get very pally with some players e.g. WIlshire and SIipperyG and dislike others eg Bellamy.
Evertonians reckon he stayed in the same hotel as pool pre season to the derby fiasco at Goodison were he changed a yellow to a red on Slippery G's say so and denied the to the toffees 2 pens. He did not ref another EVerton home game for 6 years.

3 match-changing errors from a so-called top referee all in the favour of one team in a single game. What are the odds on that?

He has gained an advantage so was correctly flagged offside ...

"“Gaining an advantage by being in that position” means:
Playing a ball that rebounds to him off a post or crossbar, having previously been in an offside position.
Playing a ball, that rebounds to him off an opponent, having previously been in an offside position."

That surely renders redundant the idea that you can be played onside by an opponent touching the ball last before you receive it?
