Personally, i think success will come to this club one way or another. If we stick with Hughes we will be winning trophies in 2,3,4 years, if we go for a top class boss who can attract better calibre of players we will be winning much sooner.

Sorry but I disagree, Europe is needed to attract top players and first off we need to get into that which will take a season or two.
We were still in Europe in Jan but we couldnt attract them? nothing to do with it- one team wins CL and one wins Eufa cup - money talks

Sorry but dont you know some expected us to win the Premiership,UEFA Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and probably the fair play league in his first season ;)

I expected us to finish above Fulham who finished 19 points behind us last season. You can moan about expectations but the truth is that we have underachieved this season by any reasonable measure. We will finish with less points than less season. Is it your expectation to spend £100 million and do worse than last season?

I would like to think I am the last to swallow other folk's propaganda, but it you listen to what the club is saying re the underlying structure, at training, around the club generally, compared to what obtained post-Sven, then there has been an enormous amount of improvement. The unfortunate thing is that these improvements DO take time to filter through and the last piece of the jigsaw will appear on the pitch in terms of personnel and results. Someone else has posted that we have lost more games than Newcastle. We have won a sight more than most teams in the premiership AT HOME. Next season I expect to see a more robust performance away from home and I think this season is merely the starting point. It doesn't make a scrap of sense to climb a few ladders and then choose to slide down some snakes and be back at square one.

Like Scolari, or Ramos?

Didn't Ramos win TWO Uefa Cups?

And a Carling Cup in his first season in the Premiership?

And didn't Scolari win a World Cup.

Okay, admittedly, nothing in comparison to Hughes getting Blackburn to 6th. in the league... but lets not be too critical, eh?

Why? As in why do they take time to filter through? Is there nothing that can be done short term in say improving our prospects to score from a set piece? How hard is that? F**king Bolton do it why not us? Surely there can be a balance between short, medium and long terms objectives?

Oh and what the hell does 're the underlying structure, at training, around the club generally' really mean? For once I would like some specifics as in 'Hughes has implemented x,y and z and this will benefit us in the medium to long term in the following way etc etc'. That would be nice don't you think?

There is no "x, y or z". It's all propaganda bollocks. You know it. I know it.

EVERY manager that comes in blames the previous one. The new regime tell the watching world how they will make the players fitter, more committed, more intelligent.
How they will impose discipline and team spirit.

Every one of them does that.

It's bollocks. You know it. I know it.

Our present incumbent in conning people. just like Sven did last season. Only in a different way.

ALL that matters is what comes out at the end of the 90 minutes of a match. The rest is meaningless to me. I will only ever judge a manager on what he does in that 90 minutes.

He has a free hand the rest of the week to do what he wants withiout me judging him!

By some people shortsightedness on here.

We stick with Hughes and success will ultimately come.

If that's the case, then surely sticking with the same group of players, if the argument appears to be one of consistency, will us the league in the next two years?

Bullshit, they won't.

Quality counts, both on and off the field!

Don't grant excuses for a piss poor manager, when by the same token we all know we have players who are also not good enough.

It's the reason he IS being sacked.

Your right, Mark Hughes is a football genius.

ADUG should give him a 10 year contract and 1 billion, because we have sacked too many managers, and because we also need to support this best young British manager we have ever had.

I am going to arrange a big end of season get together so we can all celebrate going forward with Sparky.

Thanks Sparky for saving us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And taking us forward

That's the spirit! Here was I thinking you where one of those knobs who wanted Sparky out!
