Allardyce is a bit different to the perennial hopeless cases like Hughes though. He does turn teams around and keep them up. As a short term option it's not a bad one.

I have to say and I remember you and I being quite lone voices in the wilderness when we slated him.

I absolutely loathed the man he was bloody useless. When we kept him on in 2009 I didn't renew my season ticket.

I always called him flat arse Hughes because no matter what he just sat there in his seat with his arms folded - it fucking wound me up no end. If we went one down, instead of getting on his feet and rallying the troops he just sta there.... I'm getting angry just remembering him and typing this GRRRRRR!!

The worst manger we ever had, and yes I'm including Stuart Pearce and Alan Ball in the number.

You were right and within your rights to say it when the fucker took us backwards in 08/09 despite having a stronger squad with more time to gel than SVG. It was beyond all argument by the time we sacked him the season after and only the deranged would have thought different after seeing the difference Mancini made in his first 6 months. Nothing has changed since.
