Devastated to hear of this. He is hands down the best DJ on the radio. He single-handedly shaped my taste in music (and continues to do so). Stumbled across Mark and Lard in the early-mid 90s only because I used to listen to Chris Morris at 9pm on Radio 1 and they were on straight after. Hopefully he will recover and return soon.

i thought this had been common knowledge for a while now sure I heard it off a mutual friend a while back. he makes radcliffe and maconie bearable as maconie is a cock

He was dead laidback about it when he announced he was having some time off in his show today.

Get well soon, Mark. I can’t wait to hear you back on the air.

I love the 6Music afternoon show that he and Stuart Maconie present and I was very disappointed when I heard that they’re being shunted to the weekend breakfast slot.

He’s always come across very well when he’s been on stage at City Square and is as Blue as any of us.

However, the report has mixed up him and Marc Riley.

I omitted to add that I saw the Shirehorses at uni in 1999, and they were hilarious.

City were away to Norwich that night, and at one point, Mark asked if anyone knew how we’d got on.

A few seconds later, he said, "Yes, I know we’re crap, but did we win?"
