Good. But not 35m good.

Comfortable on the ball, quick, positions himself well but still a bit rash into tackles.

T.Silva could mold him into a fantastic CB but will he be there to do it?

Let's be honest, PSG are doing what we did but a whole lot better thanks to having competent football men in charge. They have skipped the stage of buying loads of mediocre players (OK, a few not-so-good signings like Van Der Wiel but he was highly rated) and are building a monster of a team.

Bingo. In reality, our 'transition' was just what we call a load of bad purchases to support Hughes' vision. Same vision that got QPR relegated despite blowing a fortune.

What a load of utter horse shit.

When we signed people like Adebayor, the general feeling in the world of football was that there was not a chance in Hell that players like him would sign for City.

People were going berserk on here with excitement.

I can't believe you have forgotton this. We were a mid table team for fucks sake. Liverpool, With all their istree, are struggling to attract top players & you think we would have got A list players as a mid table side, which has just been sold by the deposed PM of Thailand?

Come and join Ched Evans & win the Champions League (once we qualify) ?

And we signed Zabba, Vinny, Lescott, Nige, Barry, Tevez who were all vital to us winning the FA Cup & the title.
I think the point the previous poster is making is that Hughes adopted the same strategy at QPR as he did here, and both times it was his undoing.

His strategy was to buy "established Premier League players" before adding to them young players with potential, and eventually world stars.

Players like Santa Cruz, Bridge, Bellamy, Kolo Toure, Given for us, then on to players like Zamora, Johnson, Bosingwa, Onouha for QPR. All on huge wages, and all average Premier League players. I think I'm right in saying not a single one of them commanded a single penny in transfer fees when sold by the clubs.

A better strategy would have been to buy young, talented players who were eager to prove themselves and make a step up. Look at the players Everton, Spurs, Liverpool and even Swansea have bought while Lesley was buying that dirge.

ahaha That's where my question was eventually going to lead too.

Hasn't this lad only made 36 league appearances in his whole career at club level?

Madness price for such little experience.

Looks very promising though.

Ahh I see. So not yet as good as Matija then?

Difficult to say. As a pairing, given time they would be fantastic though.

Marquinhos is a great player, but rest assured, we have an equally good centre back:
