This competition just doesn't excite me until knock out stages. Even then draw an also ran and its the same old shit, screaming and falling over trying to get players booked and sent off.

True. Arguably, the grandeur nature of the gesture (kneeling) highlights the issue itself. Nonetheless, I don’t feel anyone should be berated if they have their own gesture.

I thought it stemmed from not standing for the American anthem in NFL games, hence taking the knee as the black players were highlighting that the country was not doing enough for Black culture and rights
