We were in for Rice when we already had Rodri. My guess is that the intention was to play Rice and Rodri together.He’s such a fantastic player and the most obvious choice to replace Rodri. The question is, are we really willing to pay that sum in January for someone who will likely be benched again next season when Rodri is fit?
If he is almost as good as Rodri, then I can see both playing together as dual pivots and giving each other some rest in a long season. I see little downside

Don't agree with in general. Specifically on the wing, yes, agree. We need top quality midfield signings as our last 3 haven't been good.In general.

Not going to predict Pep that would be stupid. Going off his history though I can't see him playing a double pIvot. He's always done that by having a defender step into midfield.Who knows though he might.Rodri x Zubimendi double pivot. That's exactly what we need. With Wirtz just in front ;-)
