Alonso's name being mention in addition to Amorin, makes me wonder about his ability to sign fellow spaniard Zubimendi and maybe Wirtz, too. Just a bit of wishful thinking, I guess.

Who said he cant play with Rodri?

Rodri can play the Stones role, and push up next to Zubimendi.

They can play as a double pivot, with Rodri being more like an 8, Rodri has great vision and goal scoring.

Or just dual 6s sitting back, and we use our fullbacks to go wide and get the wingers inside.

We need a metronome as the 6, Kovacic is fine, but is more of a ball carrier and not deep playmaker.

Gundogan did it for us, but lacks the physicality for counters.

Rodri in the final third is a class act as a creator and a goalscorer, something we would seen far more if he had a quality partner.

Maybe, but one thing I'm sure of is we won't target anyone in January that wasn't already a target for next summer. Whoever we buy will be for the next few years not for 5 months.
