Why is he referred to as MDM?

His name is Martin Demichelis, not Martin De Michelis.

Just sayin'...
I hate that as well. Don't know why, it just bugs me. It seems to be a bit of an online trend thing to have three letter acronym. SWP RSC RVP have been commonly seen in the last five years or so, it must be cool to do it. But then strange when, like you say, his name doesn't have three words; it's just MD.

Has no importance to anything but annoys me!

Phew!

Thank fook it's not just me, then.

I agree with you too, TFL.

(Although some posters noted that his name was derived from 'De' and 'Michelis' so it's kinda ok.)

He will be great back-up and bench option next season when we've upgraded at the back.

That's assuming we do, needed to for 3 summers but never have.
The difference is that this time we've identified a target and are actively pursuing him regardless of price.

we did that in January and chickened out.

I think it's so we don't confuse him with Mike Doyle.

Sorry, mine was the Mike Doyle bit, inserted at the wrong place. It wasn't very funny anyway, wish I hadn't bothered

I had many doubts about him.

I don't have many doubts about him at all now.

very well done Martin.

A bit sloppy today but tidied up well.
I'm never nervous when he's on the ball, the guys got composure in spades.
