He has been great for the last couple of months. Personally I think he was unfairly slagged for conceding a dodgy penalty to the best player in the world. Looked fantastic today against the usual Pulis bombardment

Brilliant, just brilliant and has been for weeks now. Shook off the early nerves and showed why he's played at the top flight for years and years. Almost midfielder/ish in his composure on the ball. Well done Martin. Early season doubters take note. He is a player and a proper player.

He was playing well all year. Just had a couple of errors that blew up and got magnified a hundredfold by the media.

Every centre-back playing in a system like this will make errors. The real test of quality is in what they are doing match-in and match-out. The quality for MDM has been there all along. (And look at his match by match ratings at whoscored all year - that bears this out but the eyeball test to me always was pretty good as far as he goes)
