Please don't quote waspish! ;-)

I was going to quote him and just type "thanks" but I think I'd have got a good kicking.

Got to the end! In two sittings. Fantastic q&a. All the usual arguments from Rags, Gooners, twats and plastics shot down in glorious fashion. Should be a reference guide from now on.

Martin Samuel seems balanced and fair , a rare thing amongst the Football writers.

Took me two attempts to read through it all. Might go back and re-read martin's responses because they were very well written and balanced.

Excellent read. I really hope that clubs on the fence will read this and vote against "FFP" in the Premier League. I find it incredible that almost all media, even worldwide (or at least Sweden) have accepted the idea of FFP as some kind of truth, that will somehow make football fair. Hope Samuel stirs the pot.

• Rumour of the day: Manchester United will make a formal bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha in the next 48 hours - but will play hardball with the Championship club by making a cash offer as low as £6m.

Only a rumour atm but it won't suprise me one bit.

Gill you sinister repulsive scheming rat can suck my bollocks after a particularly hot day.

They do this now so what the hell will it be like if the get to pass this bullshit.

Apologies if this has already been posted (raft of comments on Martin Samuel's piece...quite amusing it is too):

First of all, thanks. Having written about financial fair play for years and been told variously that I’m obsessed, it’s a dry subject and nobody’s interested, it was slightly gratifying to press the word count button on the replies to the column and see the figure 41,438.
Gratifying and daunting because I’ve then got to read them all and then decide which ones to answer. Apologies if you’re not included here, but if you print each one of 40,000 plus words and reply in kind, well you know. We’ve all got jobs to go to. I’ve done my best. You’re not absent because we didn’t agree. As you will see, I’ve tried to include many of the dissenting arguments.
Strap yourselves in folks. We’re going to be here a while. Martin.

Good read that. One thing I'm slightly confused about is Everton. I thought they were broadly in favour of this proposal (on the face of it, that is).

If they are opposed then City, Villa, WBA, Fulham, Everton and Chelsea means only one more vote is required to block this scheme.

Interesting.
