Taken off 606 RE New villa Manager

I have been reliably informed by someone in the know who wishes to remain anonymous that MON quit his Villa post after a bid for Ashley Young was accepted from Spurs, not leaving him enough time to get in a replacement. As for MON's own replacement there are strong rumours around Juande Ramos, again do not shoot the messenger, but he is in the UK this week and is known to want to get back into English football due to "unfinished business". Thoughts?

haha on he villa talk forum some guy said before that if MON had gone he would bed a donkey....wouldnt like to see that.

but seriously though this is quite a shock. Villa are in trouble now methinks.

I have been to a few villa forums and most fans seem indifferent and unconcerned regarding MON's resignation , infact most of them are looking forward to the next manager.Anyone care to explain the reason behind this attitude?

Re: MON resigns

1) Will this scupper the Milner deal?
2) What does this mean for the future of Stephen Ireland?
3) How the hell do Aston Villa prepare to appoint a new manager within 5 days?

Aston Villa will drop like a stone now in my opinion. All the overachievement with average players will stop. Perhaps Ashley Young was sold to Spurs aswell as Milner being sold to us and that forced his hand?

So that curtain twitcher 'arry the spiv is indirectly responsible. I wonder what the media will make of this? Not much, as his role in bankrupting Portsmouth didn't seem to get a mention...

How long before someone says its our fault?

Not that long. John McGovern has just had a little dig on SSN.

Yep. Surprisingly Big Fat Racist Ron before him didn't have a pop and said managers should be prepared to work within whatever budget a club provides.

My guess is that he wasn't promised all the proceeds from the Milner sale. I think he'd accepted that Milner was on his way though because he seemed keen to get it tied up ASAP and there wasn't the bitterness towards City that Moyes showed regarding the Lescott affair.
