My source is stunned. "Numb" was his exact word. He's spoken to MON today once he heard the news.

Ireland not coming to Villa. Milner still leaving. Draw your own conclusions I suppose.

He's battened down the hatches now, his phone is ringing off the hook so won't be answering any more questions for a few days but anything else he tells me I'll pass on.

That is excellent news for us if true.

I feel sorry for Villa, and for MON, but it's one less competitor to worry about, we still get our man and we get to keep Stevie as backup. Delighted.
