Mary D's The Townley or another?

Rough!? Bloody hell I thought I had a sheltered upbringing!

Back on subject we must have one of the worst grounds in the league when it comes to pubs
Slim pickings for sure.

I read that City were buying the old Mitchell Arms pub but nothing seems to have happened with it. Was this just a rumour? I bet @jrb knows.

Turks Head is a tied Joeys pub. Their prices have been gradually going up. Hare n Hounds ain't tied. Think they just purchase the ale at agreed price. Long may it continue.
legend has it that the bitter dray to the H&H far and away exceeds the tied Holts pubs in town...hence...the cheapest.,,,although I have witnessed a few asking for the John Smiths option in there...I ask you...what kinda god?

Sure I remember the landlord saying that the council were compulsory purchasing that pub as the Metrolink was going to run right through where it stands. Still there now 10 years or whatever it is later.

exactly what happened to the Castle & Falcon in town...shude hill metro station ran close by. The C& F was listed for being booth a womens prison and a nick during it's lifespan. More popularly known to townies as ' The **** & truncheon.

I remember that. There was a big campaign to keep it open and then didn’t it mysteriously get burnt down one night?

The little to no choice when it comes to pubs around our ground really gets on my nerves!

We must be one of the worst grounds in England for pub choice. There’s little to no pubs near the ground or in the area.

There’s so much potential for pubs around there as well. Plenty of pubs in town and elsewhere are thriving as well

Mary D’s is an absolute shithole, but the kind of shithole that is appropriate for going to the footy. No way in a million years is it the kind of establishment I’d ever go in otherwise.

The Townley is marginally less rough. *marginally*.

That place opposite Mary’s was even more rough, I’m not surprised it got bulldozed.
You call them pubs rough my my mate ware have you boozed in manchester ,I’d call them nice pubs and I’m being serious mate no offence

Been in the Townley a few times, but it takes ages to get served. To be fair, I think that the beer in the ground isn’t too bad now, but you can’t have a drink with other mates who sit in different stands! Does anybody know if the bar in the squash club at the side of the ground is open before the game?
